What is "MDX Room Only"?

On my My Disney Experience site, under my hotel reservation it has "MDX Room Only". What exactly does this mean? Is it "better" or "worse" than other regular rooms? Is it that I've tied my regular reservation to My Disney Experience, therefore creating an "MDX" status?

A bit confused needless to say.

It means you have a room only booked instead of a package. Nobody but the bean counters at WDW know what the MDX means.

That's good to know. I hope I don't get stared down to or frowned on by CMs at the front desk because I don't have an all-inclusive package - I'll feel like an outcast, having to hang my head in shame. Booking the airfare and hotel separately this year, and only booking my tickets through the Disney website and not getting a dining plan this time around, saved me a lot of money. In the past I've gotten the complete package on separate trips and have been very happy. I'm assuming I'll be just as happy without it.

But I understand from dansdad it is a Room Code for the check-in desk, and not tied to My Disney Experience (isn't that "MDE", and not "MDX").

Some people use X for the first sound from EXperience.

I feel like it's a reach to think Disney does, too.

Hmmm, did you use a travel agent? I did on one of my reservations when I first booked and I think that it used "MDX". But, I've since changed to Passholder on both and can't compare. I do know that my TA reservation and RO through WDW reservation had different codes.

It's not a problem. You will be treated the same as everyone else. The CM's don't care one bit whether you have a room only booked or a package.
