Ok, I just finished watching the Blair Witch project, and I'm confused. What/who was it, and why does it kill people? If anyone knows, please fill me in......I'm lost

it was "supposed" to be the Blair Witch that got them...lol....I must admit the first time I watched it I was pretty creeped out. It was right after it came out and everyone was saying it was real!!
