What is it with the Spoiler threads?

LOVE the current Big Brother spoiler's thread! Love love love every post, and I love to post both on things that have happened and things that have not yet aired but have been on the live feeds.

Can't comment on other spoiler threads, but OP has mentioned the Big Brother thread as a cause of frustration. Guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree becausem for me, I wouldn't change a thing about that thread! Definitely wouldn't be interested in 2 separate threads.

I think what cardaway is trying to say is, he's surprised at the number of people who prefer to follow a spoiler thread rather than a non-spoiler thread. It's hard to get a good discussion going on a non-spoiler thread if there are only 3 people on it as opposed to 30 people on a spoiler thread. From my interpretation, he's just surprised at the number of people who like to know the ending before it actually happens.

As I said in my first post, I like spoilers...but I think we manage to come up with a good compromise in our Gilmore Girls thread...we discuss the episodes after they air on the thread, and then once or twice a week one of the girls posts the links to the spoilers for anyone to click if they want to know...but we don't discuss them on the thread. It works for us.

You're welcome to join us, cardaway, but somehow I don't think Gilmore Girls is your cup of tea...

Thanks for taking a shot at explaining things. You got that part exactly right.

The other part has to do with the defintion of spoilers and the lack of control that would allow all threads to be both. It sounds liek the Gilmore Girls thread is exactly how I would prefer things to be given the lack of software support.

And I've heard great things aobut Gilmore Girls and the only thing keeping me from jumping in is that I don't like juping into the middle. For example, I've just now got caught up with Battlestar and I'll be watching the new episodes with the rest of the fans for the first time this season.

Problem = Somebody is doing wrong.

I tried real hard to explain my frustration without saying anybody did anything wrong.

It's real frustrating to want to be involved with discussing these shows but there are no non-spoiler threads being supported and no option within the posting software to allow for a thread to be both.

I certainly believe somebody can be frustrated without there having to be a problem.

We'll see next month if any non-spoiler threads get supported. If I'm wrong I'll be quite happy.

There is a little hope for people like me. Short of some wacky news about their personal lives, and how they may affect the show, the shows without a running story line are pretty hard to spoil. Survivor is also pretty good about keeping anything out of the news until it the episode airs. The season with Mike burning himself is a good example.

If you are talking about threads like the Big Brother one, people who don't want to know what is happening in the house until the air date need to stay away from that thread. It was a thread specifically made for people who WANT to know live feed info.

There was another non-spoiler BB thread, but most everyone posts on the spoiler thread.

As long as it says spoiler in the title, I don't see a problem. Next thing you know, people will be calling for a ban on any TV discussion, because we can't seem to agree on the definition of spoiler.

Dancing with the Stars is the same way, pretty spoiler free(untill someone gets voted off and out comes the font). Season 3 has a current thread, right now it's just who the dancers are for this season
