What is it about the Tower of Terror?

That is a ride I went on a ton throught the years, but now as an adult with kids I take a pass on it.

I just don't like free-fall rides at all. The theming is impeccable (which is why I went on all those years), but the ride itself...gaah. It doesn't help that bars to hold onto are not amply available at every seat, and my hands need to hold something to feel somewhat in control.

My now 6 year old rode it on our last trip when she was 5 for the first time. She rode it once, and said I'm never going on it again. In trip planning now, she says she isn't going to ride it again. I'm not going to push her. Maybe she will ride it again someday.

I wanted to push my 7 yr old on it, but he is as stubborn as I am. The crappy thing is, I KNOW he will love it. He thought SDMT was an absolute joke, laughed at Everest, loved Star Tours, Mission Space, and Soarin' (RNR was closed.) I had to TOT by myself, but I'm happy I did. TOT is everything.

What is the technical term for that free-fall sensation? As I was thinking about that sensation and almost laughing out loud on the plane ride home, the best way I could think of to describe it, is almost like someone has a feather and sticks it somewhere "weird" in a tickle-y way.

I wouldn't go on it until I was 30. I do love it now, but I was really freaked out about it for years.

As a former kid who was very anxious about a lot of drop rides, don't force it. Pressuring a kid to try a ride they are pretty strongly afraid of is not fun for the kid.

Yeah, in Disneyland California they're retheming ToT to Guardians. As far as I know the jury is still out on whether that happens at WDW. It may not, since there's a lot of speculation that Guardians will take over the Universe of Energy spot at Epcot.

I also read that Guardians is going into Universe of Energy. Leave the tower alone! I do love the themeing and especially all the tiny odd details in the garden prior to entering the building itself. I love when the line is really short and you can look around the garden.
