We are thinking of surprising our little boy for his b-day and taking him to disney world the week after his bday, which is the week after easter. This would be a short trip ariving on 4/4-4/9. We will be going back for 2 weeks
8/26-9/8. It will just be the 4 of us dd-2yr, ds-7yr and us. How crazy is it that week?? We would like to be able to relatively enjoy our trip, we are so spoiled though going in Sept., with no lines and very little crowds that I am afraid that we will be miserable..or as miserable as you can be at disney world:confused3

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but our experience during this time was.....well, miserable. Crazy crowded....literally could not move in the parks, especially w/a stroller, counter service dining was packed w/long, long waits, wouldn't even think ADRs available at this time. I believe it took us all day to do 1 ride, eat and use the bathrooms!

I have always gone during the slower times last year was the first time Iwent the week after Easter! Loved IT! Yes it busy, I don't mind it being crowded though. We were at RD every morning the entire trip we never waited more than 15min for a ride. I followed my normal routine though I was a little nervous about the crowds so I did buy Ridemax as a back-up and it worked perfect! We are going back this year same time! since you will be going back again I would def. go, be there at Rd do your favorites leave at 1-2pm go to Resort or DTD then head back to park at around 5pm. Although we stayed in the parks all day the only day we left mid day was at MK. Definetly doable if you go at RD.

Yes, you should still be able to get some ADR. I did just last week. Plus everything I have been putting in for today has worked!

How your attitude is will make all the difference in the WORLD!

I went once the week before Easter.

We got there on Saturday (got engaged that night) & then all was fine & dandy. The parks weren't too bad.

But come Thursday I noticed a slight increase in the park attendance.

By Saturday I told my husband (OK fiance then) that we were leaving the MK & it was only 10pm! MK was open until midnight that night. It was horrible.

I vowed to never go a holiday week again, well unless someone else is paying.

We have been twice during Easter week. It was crowded, but do-able. We found that getting to the parks early, leaving mid day to relax at the pool and coming back around dinner time worked for us.

We went for New Year's Eve in 2007/2008. Never again.

Your kids are small and you normally go during slow times. I think you will be miserable. If you normally went during Christmas vacation or the week of 4th of July I would say it was no biggie--go and have fun. But the crush of people and the long waits will seem unbearable compared to low season.

I say do it. We will be there the week before Easter. We have done it 2 years for spring break which was during Easter week as well. It wasn't that bad. I recommend making a schedule and mapping out what you want to do. We let the kids choose where we will go the night before. They only get a few choices a piece. We map it out. We get there at opening and do a lot of fast passing. We even take my nephew who will be 16 months old on our trip in a few weeks. Yep, the strollers make it quite overwhelming. Here is how you might look at it: This isn't your only trip this year so take it easy and do what you can. What ever you miss you can do in a few months. The weather has been the only problem for us. We went back in 2007 and they had a freak cold snap. Take pull overs for chili mornings.
