what is ILLUminations desset party?

I just saw a post talking about a Illuminations dessert party. What is that? I´m going on oct.5 through 12. Is it too late to make a reservation for that?

I'm going to do my best to explain it. Basically it is a private party that one can arrange in advance with an event planner at WDW Resort. I don't know the exact number of people a party needs to have, but I know for the party I'm going to we wanted at least 25 people to help keep costs down (they are expensive...I believe there is a deposit required too ($500 or so?). I'm going to one in September that another diser has put together and I know we had a choice between two different dessert menus and I know there were a few different locations to pick from for the party as well. My husband and I were married at Disneyworld last year. We took our wedding party and out of state guests to an Illuminations party instead of dinner. I was gonna do the dessert party, but changed to top shelf liqour. It is an event you plan with an event planner though! My guests thought it was the best part of the weekend. I reserved the spot Micheal Eisner takes his family!!! It was awesome!

Also, if you have more than 8 people in your group and qualify for a Grand Gathering you can also book a dessert party. I've never done it but it sounds like fun.

A dessert party is a private function that people do in conjunction with weddings, family reunions, conventions, etc.

For example, we're having our wedding reception in the VIP Lounge at the Living Seas, and then for dessert we're going out to the lower island at France to watch Illuminations. That particular location has a 50-person minimum, but there are other locations with lower minimums.
