the leaves are turning yellow then brown starting about the middle ofthe stalk and then the whole stalk dies..... I dug up one and discarded it but now a tiger lily about 3 feet from where that lily was is doing the same thing.....help I do not want all my lilies to die!

Thanks

Check for bugs. we have the dreaded lily bug here. bright orange purple thing that poops the size of its body. strips the leaves right off the plant. lays eggs underneath the leaves. no pesticide touches it, so it's smushing with your fingers . eww.

nope no bug damage.

We have had alot of rain this year. Should I just leave them alone or remove the infected lilies. Also the one I did remove the stem was sortof contorted/deformed looking not round like it should be. When I dug it up the bulb was kindof yellow.

My guess is too much moisture and maybe not enough drainage. Maybe you need to lighten your soil.

What you are descibing is Mosaic Virus. The virus is spread from diseased lilies to healthy ones by the melon aphid.
Affected plants are often stunted, distorted and have twisted stems and leaves. The virus affects all parts of the plant and they never recover.
There is no control or cure. The only option is to remove all infected plants ( keep them out of the compost bin) and when you replant, look for named cultivars from a garden center. Stay away from the stuff in plastic bags you see at Walmart and such.

If it's not the mosaic virus maybe it's daylilly rust. Here's a link that could be helpful.

I had this on one of mine this year. Leafstreak

Wow, I'm glad you posted that daylily link. I don't think the OP would have anything on that page, since she had lilies, not daylilies, and I don't believe they're related. But I found it useful to figure out what's been afflicting my red daylilies...seems they have spring sickness!
