What is grad night?

We will be arriving WDW on May 2nd. I have heard that grad night is on 5/2 and 5/3. What is it and how will this affect us?

Grad Night is a Hard Ticket Event that is closed to the general public and open only to graduation seniors from High School. I know many of the local high schools partisipate. The link below is from the Disney Web Site:

The only affect it will have on your visit, is the Magic Kingdom will close early and then reopen later for the Grads.

Does this mean that we will not get to see Spectromagic during our trip? When we were there last time in May, Spectromagic was only shown on Fri and Sat. nights. We will be very disappointed if we don't get to see it.

Unfortunately Disney has not posted their hours and parade/fireworks schedule for May yet, unless someone has inside information, I guess there is no telling. I always plan my vacation very early and I think this is the longest I have had to wait for Disney to post their schedule. It's making it hard to do dinner reservation, decide which night to go where, etc.
