Then why don't they? They lay off 7000 workers, but tell us that "It's for staffing reasons, we can't hire workers to work in the second water park or drive the trams. Were any of the workers they laid off given the choice? Sorry, Disney-you can't say one thing and do the opposite.
The majority of workers laid off were office and upper management, not front line cast. Actually, no front line/operational cast were laid off. Most of the office workers/management laid off are either not qualified to be lifeguards or have the desire to operate trams, work in QSR at a waterpark, or do any front line role. And many of the 7000 did not come from FL, they were corporate positions in CA and other divisions. Not exactly apples to apples. I don't think a corporate manager from CA is going to move to FL for a $20 an hour job renting towels or running a cash register at a water park - or driving a tram. Edit - and they are still trying to hire front line cast, that has not stopped.
I am so excited! When driving to the parks later in the day, it was a long and dangerously hot walk from the car to the entrance. I will be happy to be able to do day trips to Epcot again (it’s my favorite park).

Thanks,we have been holding off going to WDW as only 2 were running when we went last......In Aug 2023 it was announced that they all would be running in Sept of 23...Then it was all quiet about them,have to start planning a vacation nom!!!
