I keep seeing posts about a crane. I am going in October. I hope that I can still get some good pics of the castle. It has been almost 4 years since I have been:(

they are starting to take down all the gold decorations from around 10 sept (I believe) until November. The access path on the right hand side as you face the castle will be closed and boards put up at the rear next to Sir Mickey's to obscure as much as possible a crane which will be in place for the removal of the decorations and for the castle to get a paint job at the same time ......

Ahh!! Well, I'm not going back until abour December 07..hopefully sooner too, so it should be gone once I'm there. :)

What I am waiting for is a picture of the castle once they remove that ugly mirror. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if the Castle is going back to normal or is something special being put on it again for the new celebration?

I hope they are all done when we get there on Dec.5

Considering they have almost all the gold off those spires and its only been 2 days, they should be done in about a month!

That would be the Official Bird of WDW, the construction crane. :thumbsup2

I like the mirror. It's pretty and I liked how it sparkled. Peter and Wends, along with the spirals going up th etowers were nice touches. We went four times during the HCOE, and several times before, and I must say that the HCOE decorated castle makes the classic seem plain and slightly boring, in my opinion.

The cinderella celebration is supposed to end on sept 16 and the castle is going to get refurbished for the October announcement of the Year of Million Dreams. It will definately be finshed for October.

I couldn't agree with you more!

You will have a hard time even seeing the crane. If you look at my pictures it is hidden so it won't interfere with most pictures.
