I have tried multiple times to make and ADR for dinner there for the week of 8/27 - 9/3 and have been told that they are either sold out or only have one for 9pm.

Is this due to the free dinnig I wonder? I know that they are now starting lunch there but dd and I prefer to stick to the parks for lunch!

Chef Mickeys has always been hard to get at the last minute. I'm sure that the free dining has only made it worse. It is one of the most popular restaurants for families.

Doing a later, big lunch at CM is actually a great idea for an MK day, IMO. Maybe even Epcot, depending on your resort.

Did their lunch's start yet? Does anybody know?

I just called dining and they said Chef Mickey's is only open for lunch until October. When I go for Thanksgiving it's back to breakfast and dinner only.

Yes the free dining is a big part of the reason, another reason is that the Wiggles are at WDW during that time and CM is popular with preschoolers. Its also Labor Day. But CM is notoriously hard to get even without the free dining or the Wiggles, or a three day weekend.

You're actually going during a pretty busy time. The week before and the week after the crowds will be less

We had a dinner ADR for 4 and had to switch it to a 5 person. We ended up having to do breakfast at CM which was okay with me. Most posts regarding crowds say the last week of August is low crowds (most children are back in school). I am sure Labor Day weekend will be busy, but during the week of 8/27-9/1 it should be fine.

And yes, free dining is booking things up very nicely! ;)

I arrive on the 27th, and the only night they had avalible was the 27th at 9pm. Every other night of my stay it was full. I called yesterday.

my kids are no longer in preschool, I would pay big money NOT to see the wiggles! :Pinkbounc

The 9pm ressie isn't all that bad. DBF and I had this time back in June and the place was practically empty. Not to mention we got there at 8:15 and were sat immediately even though our ADR wasn't for another 45 minutes. Depends on how bad you want to eat there. The food is AMAZING.:)

If I could I would re-book my trip for another time I would. SInce dd is due to start kindergarden the week after we get back I am unable to. I can tell you this I will not be one of the people rushing to get tickets.

I called about 90 days ahead for Chef Mickey's and we ended up with 7:40 pm. It was really later than I wanted. I guess everyone wants to eat with Mickey! ::MickeyMo I don't know if it's because of free dining or not, but I have really had a hard time getting the places and times we wanted. We've settled with later dinners and I'm still hoping to get an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern.

Wow ,Glad I booked our dinner at CM's in April otherwise DH would have been very disappointed next week!

I was told that Chef Mickey's & Le Cellier are 2 of the hardest restaurants to get ADR's for.

I made my ressies back in April for this Wed. (23rd). The only time I could get was 8:30pm. I tried calling back several times to change it and the only thing they had available was 9:00. I felt lucky with my 8:30. I figured it was because we are a party of (7) 2 adults and 5 children.
