The park closed at 8 pm but there has been music playing since then. It was not loud enought to bother me until now. At 10:30 pm they cranked up Michael Jackson so loud I swear he has returned from the grave and is playing right outside our room!

Guest services says it is a private party to celebrate the WOC show. She thought it was the actual WOC show but I explained that the music blasting was Michael Jackson and Madonna. She put me on hold and came back to tell me that is the preshow and the actual private viewing of WOC is at 11:55 pm. ARRRRGGGH.

My husband has hearing aids in both ears. It was loud enough to wake him up and he could understand every word being sung without his hearing aids!

It seems to be a bit quieter now so maybe I wasn't the only one to call to complain. We've been up since 3:30 am this morning California time traveling to get here, so we're extra tired. But we can't be the only people asleep at this time of night. If I were a parent with kids that woke up from the noise I'd really be spitting nails.

DisneyParks Blog had an article about WOC's 500th showing was tonight. Maybe that was what the private party about?

Intel Company private party... but u didnt hear it from me. ;)

I don't care if there is a private party or a Disney celebration. Cranking the music up the way they did at 10:30 pm was WAY too loud. I'm glad they turned it down. Like I said, I can't imagine that the phones weren't ringing off the hook with complaints. And the people actually in the park would have had to put up with it that loud, too. No way would I have been happy if I was there and they blasted me with music so loud.

In Sept, we won passes through Coke for a WOC showing and after party that ran till 1am. There was music/dancing etc. I never thought about the rooms nearby as loud as it was. (Too busy having fun:goodvibes)
For what they charge for the rooms, I'd be a bit peeved if I was trying to sleep too!

I just read a comment in Facebook on the disney account about how someone who lives 3 blocks fron California Adventure had the windows shaking in her house from the music being turned up so loud on Tuesday night. She accused Disney of being a very bad neighbor. I responded that if she thought it was loud 3 blocks away, she should have tried a room literally right next to WOC!

No matter who is having the party, you'd think Disney would be consistent in the sound levels they would allow. Especially for late night parties.

Wow- I thought Electronica was earsplitting. I hate how everything has to be turned up to the extreme. How can you enjoy talking or taking in the surroundings when you are just being blasted. I would have been so furious if my kids were woken up during our vacation by loud music. That is unacceptable.

If I had been there and my children had woken up I'd march right down to that lobby in my pjs, screaming kids in tow and raise a scene to be sure!!! Loud music from the show or park noise during operating hours is one thing. But music extra loud so late would not fly with me. Hope you were able to get some rest!

Im sorry it was so loud. I have had many rooms over looking DCA and never had a problem and we stay over New Years Eve. So this party must have been going pretty good.

As for the neighbors 3 blocks away. Its so off when they complain about Disney. Disney was there first. Walt found a field in the middle of no ware to build his park. There weren't houses back then, heck there weren't even blocks so anyone could say they were 3 blocks from Disneyland. it all got build up after the park was there. If you want quite, live in the country area, yes LA has that, I live in a neighborhood that is quite.

Its like moving by an airport and complaining about plane noise. Sounds nuts to me.

Did Disney give anything to hotel guest to say sorry for the all the noise?

I am sorry your family was disturbed, but 10:30pm at a theme park is not really that late. During non-off season, the Parks themselves are open later than that with bands, shows, etc....

When you stay IN the Park, there is always the risk that you are going to hear noise from things happening nearby.

I imagine it's a constant balance between the wants of the guests in the hotel and the guests in the Parks enjoying the fun.

I have no problem with theme park noise. we just switched from a dvc room to a regular gch room today and we are literally above the monorail. I love it! The music was loud enough that I would have worn ear plugs to protect my hearing in my own hotel room if I had them with me. It was WAY above any normal theme park noise.

I agree. Theme park noise is understandable however I have found that with the sliding glass doors shut the noise is cut way down. And if it was still very loud with the doors shut then that is an issue as they have many guests trying to rest. I am glad you were moved to a room that suits your needs better and hopefully is more quiet. We've never stayed in a room over the monorail but I know my kids would love it!

i was at hojos an we went to be dearly an we were all three woke up by fireworks

I know its not the music but it ws for hannah montans party an it was louder then i remember the others being

Disney didn't move our room, I had a split stay scheduled from the beginning. We are DVC members and decided on this trip only at the end of Nov. By then, the only space I could get in the DVC villas was Tue and Wed night. I had to book Thurs to Sun on cash in the regular hotel. This is a treat for us though as I am not used to turn down service with chocolates and fresh towels!

The sliding glass doors were definitely closed on Tues night and the noise from the private party was unbelievable. It really didn't last that long at the high volume before it was quieter again. I know there had to be lots of people calling to complain. It really was like a normal park background noise until 10:30 when someone decided to bring back Michael Jackson from the dead.
