Hi all. We always have a big "BBQ" feast on Xmas eve, a family tradition. This year I want to make the bread pudding with banana fosters sauce from ohanas! So I got the recipe off allears and it calls for "French bread or ohana breakfast bread"
Ok I could bake my own bread n follow that recipe but that seems a little over complicated for me! So what is "French bread"do they mean brioche or something like that?
I thought the bread pudding had a much heavier texture than brioche so just not sure what I should be getting!!!
Thanks for any advice!!!

I know nothing about cooking so this could be a really stupid answer  but could it mean french stick?

I think it may mean the brioche kind of bread, only because if you google OHANA BREAKFAST BREAD and look at the images it looks like the same texture.

I think it is a Brioche type bread that they use. :thumbsup2

I found this old thread on the DIS from a few years ago maybe this will help.

It was posted by an American and they used "1 loaf challah bread or egg-style bread" I have no idea what challah bread is as we don't have that in the UK but maybe that will help you?

Challah bread can be bought at specialist Jewish bakeries in the UK. It is a fairly light, slightly sweet bread. So I'm think brioche could substitute for the recipe.
