Does anyone know what is currently "free" on the Room Service menu? I read where Lemonade is no longer free, and was wondering about the "All Hands on Deck" Cheese tray, etc.

To the best of my knowlege, everything but the drinks (soda, wine, etc.) are free. Well, included in the cruise price, not actually free. Tea was included free in November. I also got the all hands on deck cheese tray. Except the tip, if you dont order beverages like wine or soda, it is free. Please correct me if anything changed since the November 6 Wonder.

We were on the Wonder in Feb and had the room service breakfast every morning, no charge. This included a choice of tea, coffee, bagels, cereal, toast, juice. It's a great idea if you like to get up early, have a little something (CAFFEINE) while your son plays basketball at (7:30am!) and if you really want more or somethingelse, you can still go to the buffet later. I think this is a great idea if you have kids who are hungry before the parents are ready to dress or need your morning jolt. Don't forget to tip!

Are you sure about the lemonade? :scratchin On our last Wonder cruise in Sept. we ordered room service for dinner every evening and we always included the lemonade with it. No charge.

Lemonade was also available (no charge) at the Dec. 9 coffee station every day.
Has this changed now?

It has changed, they do charge for lemonade now, but apple and orange juice are still free, I just went up to deck 9, and got 5 cups of lemonade and kept them in the fridge, so the kids always had some when they were thirsty.
I did appreciate, that they told me that it was now $1.75 when I ordered, so that I could cancel it.

I don't know about others but I believe it is cheap of DCL to charge for lemonade! Slowly cruiselines are adding in more and more fees above the cruisefare. The surcharge for pop and alcoholic beverages has been around for years but lemonade. Shoot, just bring your powdered lemonade mix from home and save more cash. It is also easy to transport. Kathy

christinou: I take it from your post that you now have to pay for lemonade if you order with room service   but it's still free on Deck 9 :hyper:

Is this correct ?

If so, bringing your own mix is a great idea, tecdavidt  Thank you for the suggestion.

I think the confusion about being charged for lemonade stems from the fact that there are 2 types of lemonade offered onboard the Magic (not sure about Wonder).

When we sailed last time we were told that the lemonade from the drink station on Deck 9 is different from the lemonade from room service. The room service lemonade is made from a "sour mix" like for alcoholic drinks. We ordered lemonade from RS and was charged...I asked about it and was told I had to specify that I wanted the "free" lemonade. The lemonade from RS is definately very tart and not as good as the lemonade from the machine on Deck 9.

Hope this helps a bit.

Never knew they had two kinds of lemonade :crazy2:

Will be sure to ask next time we order room service. Thank you.

They charge for bottled water delivered to the room. We kept a pitcher of ice water (ordered daily from RS) in the refrigerator.
It would be ideal if you do bring powdered lemonade mix with you. (Or any drink mix for that matter.)

The Port of Salad was delicious, RS pizza great and if you are cheeseheads, All Hands on Deck was tasty.

We did the RS breakfast routine and asked for things that weren't on the 'Order Early' hangtag. RS is extremely accommodating.

THere is a room service charge when you are still docked at PC. But other than all the extras-alcohol/soda-enjoy all the "free" room service!!!!
Remember to tip a dollar or two above the added gratuity to your server who delivers-they do appreciate that!!

We didn't experience a room service charge while still at Port Canaveral. Shortly after getting to our room we placed an order for the cheese plates and some cookies. There was no charge but we did, of course, give the CM a tip.

Is this something new?

lstokes....

In your post it said there was an auto grautity....to me that would mean that you possibly ordered something that would incur an auto gratuity like an alocohlic beverage or soft drink?? Is that the charge you are referring to?

I have never heard of DCL charging for room service while still in PC. Please clarify....anyone else have this experience.

MJ

We've done room service in PC and not seen any service charge either.

Now, I also recommend the Ship's Kettle, excellent tomato soup.
