I've seen this mentioned a few times and I'm not sure what it is! Could someone please clarify for me! :goodvibes

I think it is the free Disney Dining Plan. I have heard rumors about it, but do not know anything about it. I know that Maggimus has mention something on that lines to me. You might want to PM her to get the details.

It is the free disney dining plan. The last 2 years WDW has offered their dining plan for free during a certain time period. Right now it is up in the air whether they will offer it this year or not (we will probobly know for certain within the next week). In the past (both 2005 & 2006) it has been offered through different dates in August & September. I was there in September and it was so worth it! The entire package was a great value and we ate for free-- which normally costs quite a bit! You might want to check out the Disney Dining Plan before booking if you arent familiar with it.

Hope this helps! THey offer this during their slower times to bring in more people between the time that kids go back to school and the food and wine festival begins.

Hope this helps!

Fingers crossed for this year, but who knows. I have a friend who is a travel agent and she said that Disney is planning on making an announcement on April 12. We'll see...

Is it true that you have to buy a 'package' to purchase the Disney Disney Dining plan? Like one of the Magic your way Packages?

I had a travel agent tell me that you can't book a stay at a resort and purchase a package, even if you already have passes.

Just wanted to see if you guys had any experience with this?

Thanks for your help as always!

I'm not sure...I do think you have to book a package, but I could be wrong. I know that some people have found a way around this, but I'm not sure how. You might try looking/asking over on the DDP board. Here's the LINK

I do believe your travel agent is right. Ive heard this discussed many times and if my memory servers me correctly you are suppost to purchase a package through them like MYW in order to receive the free dining.

I believe free dining is already being offered in the UK...so anyone over seas should check into it....You have to stay on property...and if you are planning on eating everyone of your meals onsite then its worth it…well sort of

Weather its a good thing or not is a discussion left up to the restaurant board...I know us locals hate it...but that’s because we cant eat at Disney during that month...and it’s the down fall of quality disney dinning…but again that is a matter of opinion….

Still even if you have already booked your rooms you can add the dining plan

If its offered really look into it….but do the math…if your not a big eater you could probably have a cheaper vacation if you take the discount on the hotel rooms and skip the meal plan

We did this last year and we had to do a package, but all that meant was each person on the package had to buy at least one day's park tickets. We each bought just one since we'd just recieved our new annual passes for our custom wedding. We saved the one days to use later on since they won't expire. HOpe that helps.
