I think my family will be going to Universal during Easter weekend 2005 (of all times)

I anticipate extremely heavy crowds and would like to reduce our time in the queues as much as possible. If Front of the Line access is so great, I'll definitely book us into a Universal resort. But, if it's just another name for Fast Pass/Universal Express, I'll have to think twice.

Please provide any info you can about the benefits of FOTL. Thanks.

FOTL is like fast pass - except you NEVER need a "fast pass" you just walk into the ride whenever you want.

Just like at Disney, universal has "express pass" machines near certain attractions, you just swipe your annual pass or park pass in the machine, and you get a ticket with a return time on.

with FOTL access, you don't have to swipe your card, you just get in the 'express pass' line at the attraction, show your room key, and you're all set.

WELL worth it if you ask me!

It really is that great. If you are staying on-site your room key serves as your FOTL so rather than waiting in the large lines your wait is considerably less (minutes and not hours) and on lite crowd days, virtually no wait at all. When you buy the Express Plus it is good one time only while most of the time with the room key you can ride multiple times. They do put caps on this during extremely busy times but it is only on a few more popular rides when they do.

We are going this Easter break also. Will they put the ride restrictions on FOTL like they did last summer?

We were there last July when the restrictions were supposedly enforced. The only place our room key was scanned was the Mummy. I rode the Hulk repeatedly with my room key before 3:00. Even if they are strictly enforced, it only affects five rides in each park. Once you do those rides and see the shows and have lunch, it's 3:00 and you can use your key as much as you want! It's still a GREAT perk, even if they do restrict the use.

Do you get one key for the entire room for FOTL? Or does every person on the reservation get a key?

Everyone gets one, even toddlers. They make a nice souvenier because they type the name and age of the family memmbers.
