Hi All,

I'm a first timer going to Disney at the end of April. I've read about something called the Fastpass on a couple of threads. Can someone please explaing to me what this is, and how do I get one!! :confused3

Thank you so much!!

Fastpass is a way to bypass the line (or at least end up in a much shorter one) without as long a wait. The park guidemap tells you which attractions have FP. You go to the attraction and they have a machine there that you put your park pass into. It spits back your pass and a Fastpass that tells you what time you can return to the attraction (there is a clock above the machines to let you know just in case you DON'T want to come back at that time). When you return, there is a separate line for FP holders. Just show them the FP and you'll be allowed into the special line.

It's a GREAT timesaver. There's more info here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/fastpass.htm including the list of attractions.

BTW -- it's totally FREE. Universal has something similar but you have to pay extra for it!! :sad2:

Fastpass is something that truly helps make your trip enjoyable. If you go to Disney at a crowded time of the year Fastpass really helps you ride what you want to. The best way is to plan what you want to ride, where you want to eat, what you want to see and use fastpass around your schedule. I highly recommend using fastpass. It is truly great. Have a great vacation. :cheer2:

A couple of important tips to keep in mind:

1. You can get one FASTPASS per park ticket. You will need to "scan" each park pass in order to acquire a FASTPASS.
2. One cannot acquire another FASTPASS until the current one you have is in effect. For example, if your FASTPASS says to return between 1:00 PM and 1:20 PM you cannot get another FASTPASS (even for another attraction) until 1:00 PM. A time stamp is printed on the bottom of your pass and indicates when you may get another FASTPASS Many guests think that they can simply run from one FASTPASS attraction to another and accumulate passes.
3. Remember to always look at the "Stand By Time" and the "FASTPASS Time." Many guests will simply get a FASTPASS and not look to see how long the actual line is. I have on many occassions, jumped on a favorite attractions when the line is short and then obtained a FASTPASS for later in the day when I get off.
