Is it I-4 or the other one with the tolls?

We will be arriving around 8:00 at night.

At 8 PM on average the other one with the tolls (417) is faster but I-4 comes close.

Even if you don't get on the first freeway (correction, 528's also a tollway) until you left the airport north entrance (Semoran; 436) and went left at the first light (Frontage Rd., becomes McCoy Rd.) to avoid one of the tolls. You'd get on 528 at the next interchange (Conway Rd.) just over a mile west (towards Disney that is).

Retracing your steps at the end of your vacation, take I-4 ramp to I-4 East (northeast). Get off I-4 onto 528 east. Get off 528 at its exit 9 (Tradeport). Left and cross under, get into middle lane, required right onto McCoy, airport entrance (Semoran Blvd.) is just over a mile away.

Both routes to WDW from the airport have tolls.

The best route to Pop is the southern route.

From the airport, take the South exit.

Turn onto SR417 (Central Florida Greenway) westbound. Proceed about 15 miles. NOTE: There are about 3 tolls, total about $3, along SR417.

Take Exit 3 onto Osceola Parkway westbound. Proceed about 1.5 miles, passing through the International Drive intersection and the I-4 interchange.

Turn right onto Victory Way. The entrance to Pop Century will be just ahead on the right.

Total travel time is generally about 25-35 minutes, depending on traffic and the mean average lead content of the driver's right foot.

Will is correct. This is the fastest (and easiest) route to Pop.

Caveat: The last toll exit is unmanned, for which you will need change. I typically fill an empty Airborne container with quarters for each trip and leave it in the rental car the entire stay. Very handy when approaching toll booths, both manned and unmanned.
