Hello everyone,

Just looking ahead to our latest trip. We want to try something new as is what we try to do everytime we go to the World Showcase.

We have been to Akershus, liked it;
Biergarten, so-so;
San Angel Inn, hated it;
Le Cellier, LOVED IT;
Chefs de France, liked it.

Which brings me to what will be our next experience, Nine Dragons.

How is the food? Ample quantity and excellent quality?

Immersive experience?

Anyone who has been, please let us know the good and the bad.

I like it-I'm a huge Moo Goo Gai Pan fan, and find it hard to find good quality versions at most restaurants. It was very good. Everyone (out of 5) liked their meal, especially the 2 who got the Pepper Steak. Great portions, way more than most of us could eat. It's not really themed more than your average Chinese restaurant I don't think, but I do think they have some food that is more realisitic (not necessarily what we ordered). I've enjoyed it every time I've visited, and it's a good value. I'd give it an 8 of 10 stars.

Cool!

So far I like what I hear.

I hope more people like yourself WDWAurora will express what they ordered as well as critiquing.

I know what the menu is from allearsnet but it is nice to hear from people here.

Keep 'em comin'

In Epcot over the last few years in my opinion.Just a couple a years ago Nine Dragons got some of the worst reviews I read on the Dis.Now reviews are much better and the last two times we ate at Nine Dragons it was great and service was also.So why not give them a try.We ate lunch in 2003 and dinner in 2004 and have a lunch planned on our December trip .::yes:: :wave2:

My DH and I ended up at 9 Dragons last Dec because we did not make a PS and it was here or Morocco. My DH nixed Morocco. I was pleasantly surprised. We split sweet and sour pork and sesame chicken and both were yummy. We were both starving and we couldn't finish the 2 entrees. We want to go there again during our Jan trip. If you chose this restaurant, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. But don't expect great ambiance because I don't think it has that.

Went last year and LOVED it. we ended up eating here twice. We had the lunch sampler for 2 and a couple of the dim sum which were very good as well. This ia a place we will be visting on our upcoming trip again.

We ate there a few years ago and my husband still raves about his meal. I thought the atmosphere wan't very cozy, with this CAVERNOUS space themed no better than the chinese place up town. Portions were hearty as I recall. Enjoy!

We had lunch here during our trip this past April and enjoyed it. :) I had Sesame Chicken, DH had Pepper Steak (I think). My Sesame Chicken was better than an average Chinese restaurant at home but not "WOW!" good if that makes sense. The one standout for us was the hot and sour soup. DH and I both thought it was the best we'd ever had. Even our 2 and 4 year olds loved it. The children's menu does leave a lot to be desired. It was sweet and sour chicken with the sauce on the side and that's it.

I've been twice (few years ago) and enjoyed both meals. The atmosphere (unless it's changed) is so-so...definitely won't win an award there. But if you like chinese food, make a stop. May want to try it for lunch!

We make a point to visit Nine Dragons every trip to WDW, that's how good it is!

We have not eaten there in probably 10 or more years, just because of the awful food, BUT it has been getting really good reviews lately and I'm wondering if perhaps the food has gotten much better. Might try it again!!!

We had dinner there once, I don't know how many years ago, and like it very much. The problem was there was too much food for the two of us.

I like donaldtutter's idea about lunch. We'll have to give that a try.

Excellent. Thanks for all the responses.

We will definitely be eating there. I am quite looking forward to it, more so than I did before posing this question.

Thanks All,

We ended up here last January, after being turned away from several places. I thought it was very pretty, but like others have mentioned, not 'cozy'. The place is huge! I remember that our server was super nice. Unfortunately, I can't remember all of what we ordered, but I whole heartedly second the hot and sour soup! It was very good. I know we enjoyed the food, and the portions were enormous!

ive been there during all 4 of my trips and have a ps for this trip as well. weve done lunch and dinner and have had an excelent dinner each time. i believe its the honey sesame chichen that i had. It was great.

This is a must do on all of our trips. My 3 picky dds love the sesame chicken and pepper beef. DH is more adventurous in his choices, and has never been disappointed.

I am usually skeptical about Chinese food restaurants but gave it a try and loved it. We go there once every visit now. The chicken dishes are very good, white meat. Last time I had shrimp with vegetables and that was excellent. Huge shrimp, fresh veggies, great sauce. If you have a sauce preference be sure to ask pre order. We ordered a chicken with veggie dish and the sauce was white when we expected a brown sauce. It was just as tasty, but not what we expected. The portions are huge, it is better to order a few dishes and have the whole table share (depending on how many are in your group). The soups are good as well. Enjoy!!

We ate there twice last December. Found it to be reasonably priced with good portions of food. I'm definiately planning on eating there this year.
