what is everyones average stay using DVC points?

We always do a 7 day, Sat-Sat, in a 2 bedroom. We are considering adding on to take two shorter trips each year. Our current spacing of ~ 18months is just too long!

We've been averaging about 4 weeks per trip, but only go once a year normally. The next trip is just under 5 weeks in Oct/Nov.

Generally we do a 8 night stay but we have an upcoming 12 night stay. For us the flights dictate how long we stay. Regardless love DVC and the flexibility it give our family.

We visit twice a year and our trips range from 9 to 12 days, depending on the time of year. When we visit in December, we stay for 12 days, but our summer trip is only 9 or 10 days.

For us, the first and last day are always a wash because of flight times and DME, so it usually feels like a 7 to 10 day trip.

We generally do 8-9 nights every year - i.e. sat-sun or sat-mon. Flying from the west coast we hate doing less than a week because of the flights.

No typical pattern. My next stays are a 4 nighter in April, then in August, 3 nights Vero Beach, 5 nights Poly, then DVC Member Cruise, then 1 night AKV concierge before driving back to NJ.

Oh, then in September 5 nights at Aulani in a 2 bedroom after a RCCL cruise to Hawaii!

Since airfare is still relatively reasonable and DH has lots of vacation time, we prefer to book 7 or 8 night trips of: Saturday to Thursday, switching over to Universal for 2 or 3 nights. Sometimes, we do Universal first, then DVC Monday to Saturday/Sunday. If cruising from PC or Tampa we work in a few days around a cruise.

We are west coasters so tend to go to WDW for at least 10 days, and usually more like 14. Since we fly in we often arrive and depart midweek, because the flights are cheaper or less points.

When we go to DLR, we generally drive down, arriving on Sunday and leaving on Friday.

Since we bought DVC in 2009, we have averaged one trip to WDW and one trip to DLR each year except last year, when we went to Tokyo and Paris.

Our favorite length of time for any vacation is 10 nights. That doesn't mean all trips are that long, that's just what we like to have for our "main" (summer) vacation. Every few years or so we will do a 2 week trip - usually to someplace "special" like to Europe or Hawaii. The more it costs to GET there and the longer it takes to get there the longer we try to stay. This summer we're doing 10 nights then we have 5 or 6 more tentatively planned for January.

wow that is actually a bit longer then i thought.....i wonder what the average size of people point contracts. i am at 220 i will need to add some more as my family will be expanding in the next year and i would like to have at least enough for a 1 bedroom in a prime location.

every spring (mostly in may - F&GF) & every Autumn (mostly early October - F&WF) - preferably weekday arrivals & departures to avoid larger crowds.
- each vacation lasts 11-14 days. we find full vacation mode (no worries, be happy) sets in about day 3; under 10 days & we feel like we went on a trip, rather than a vacation.
- studios are perfect for us (2 adults), but we've also stayed in both 1 and 2-bdrms.

side note: great views are a non-negotiable - we would rather stay in a studio with a fantastic view than a 2-bdrm with an "okay" view (a GV might be worth the trade-off )

We have done 3 to 9 night stays since we bought in 2006 (I can detail it below). Mostly 3 to 6 nights over the past few years since we've been getting AP/PAP and doing several trips per year. We decided to go back to 1 big trip and now we have 11 nights booked for August...so excited about that! We prefer to eliminate weekends, especially at VB or HHI (where they cost a lot more points) or during F&W (weekends are crazy busy).

2006- 7 nights at BWV in Sept
2007- 2 or 3 nights at SSR (added to 2 or 3 nights at CR that was for work conference) in Jan
2008- 9 night split stay at BWV and VWL July 4th week
2009- 4 nights at HHI and then 3 at OKW (non WDW park trip) in July
2011- (6 nights off-site in July so we got AP to use --->) and 6 nights at OKW in Dec
2012- 4 nights at VB (and then 2 at US HRH) in Aug
2013- 5 nights at BCV in Jan and 3 nights at BLT in Oct and 6 nights at AKV in Dec
2014- 5 night split stay at SSR and BWV with 4 nights at HHI on way home in Aug and 3 night split stay at VWL and BCV in Nov
2015- BOOKED--- 3 nights at HHI in April and 11 night split stay at BWV and SSR in Aug

We usually do 8 nights (Sat-Sun). Of course, after next school year DS will move on to high school. We will then be restricted to summer vacations for a while. We will probably start doing 2 weeks in the summer.
