I hear alot about this and really have no idea what it is I posted about buying a condo and got really mixed reviws and not on the good side we vacation atleast 2x a year is it something you can use anytime how does it work:confused3 maybe it is a better alternative to actually buying a vacation condo post pro/cons all welcome and appreciated thanks your all the best when it come to info:thumbsup2

Quite basically, it is Disney's timeshare. Disney Vacation Club is what it stands for.

There is a whole DVC forum here, and they have TONS of information in their stickies, and just by reading their threads!

It is Disney's timeshare with a twist. You buy points that you can use at any of the DVC resorts, Disney hotels, the Disney cruise line or at quite a few other resorts all over the world. You aren't locked into staying at 1 place on the same week every year like some other timeshares.

We LOVE being DVC owners. We are able to stay at much larger accomodations for much longer.

Check out the DVC forums here on the DIS or www.disneyvacationclub.com for more info. :)

My DVC value is the only real estate interest that has gone up in the last few years. How are Orlando condos doing? Its definately worth looking into.

Looks like it really is
Disney's Best Kept Secret!

PS. this is the tag line when they are advertising DVC...

It may actually be more beneficial for you than actually buying a home in Florida right now- Unless you all are planning on retiring to Florida... & if when you are not using your Florida home right now it is not just sitting... You can check out more info at the DVC boards and the link posted above by a PP.
Reaserach, research, research before jumping in though- We have taken the plunge and are ecstatic!

What is DVC?? only the BEST thing ever!!! Seriously, do the research and see if its for your family! I love my DVC!!

   Yes - research is a wonderful thing. I did tons and we bought in Sept & again in Jan. We take our first trip "home" in August.
WE CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

thank you all will definetly research even though this thing about buying points is cofussing...

You should ask this question over on the disboards DVC:Mousellaneous section.

While I am a DVC member (and love it) the people over there will tell you more than you ever thought you could know about DVC.

Just don't go over to the budget board and ask how you should finance your DVC-that's a big hot button issue there :thumbsup2

Yup very helpful bunch over there on the DVC forum.

One thing I will sya is that DVC is the only reason we are able to go on our WDW vacation this year. (My dh isn't getting his annual bonus)
