What is Disneys biggest FAIL!?

Duffy the Bear. I saw that thing get introduced at a DVC thing after spending the morning at Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal, and all I could think was how I spent the morning visiting Hogwarts, flying around a Qudditch pitch, and enjoying a Butterbeer...and the best Disney could come up with was a teddy bear with a lot of expensive accessories.

The situation with the Toy Story Midway Mania wait. Seriously. Someone needs to be fired over this.

DHS in general. Do something with it!!

Thinking adding lots of new meet-and-greets counts as adding new attractions.

Not enough Pixar. Why is there nothing from The Incredibles in the parks yet? Build the Monster Inc coaster already. Build something. And get moving on the Marvel stuff you paid billions for too.

Seriously, I wish they spent as much time building up their parks as they spent building up their resorts.

Disney's draw for years was customer service. When you went you felt special. It was magical. I haven't felt that for at least 10 years. It's just another big theme park and you're just another paying customer

This sums up my feelings pretty much. Most of the magic (in all areas) has been allowed to slip away. For years I felt the one thing I could be grateful for living in Central FL was my close proximity to WDW. We went often and I felt lucky. We left the area in January and I haven't thought about WDW once.

Allowing Universal to outpace them. Disney just didn't keep up on adding new attractions while updating older attractions. They move way too slowly.

I agree with her, and I'm not going to WDW anytime soon. The customer service and overall experience are NOTHING like they once were. With that said, I know I'll go back again some day because I have many happy memories there and Disney is important to me. I'm hoping, though, that they will right their seriously listing ship and try to become what they once were.

LOL. I was in Epcot this August and at the character parade there was Duffy.
Poor bear was standing there all by his lonesome with his handler. not one single solitary child was going over to Duffy. with all the fabulous characters disney has to promote they come up with Duffy.

Now some one should have seriously been fired over that.

"Fails" in my family's opinion include the following:

Stupid ending to the new Spaceship Earth. I KNOW that the 2nd half of the ride had become dated, but that's because we'd ACCOMPLISHED many of these things! Why not make mention of and celebrate this, and then go on to project what we'll achieve over the NEXT 100 years? This would be keeping the theme of the exhibit, instead of turning it into yet another interactive video game (aka "cheap fix" for the sponsors).

Not doing something with the Wonders of Life pavilion. DH and I are both biochemists and it makes us sad that in this day and age, nobody wants to sponsor anything for this location. How is it possible that Disney can ignore such a huge space and imagineers can't come up with something "sellable" to attract sponsors?

It's time to update Indiana Jones. Same story, over and over. You can't change the shows based on Disney movies (B&B, Nemo, etc) but certainly some new stunts or different locations could be added to Indy.

Hester and Jester's whatever it is at AK. TSM & Buzz LIghtyear rise show us that people want to play carny-like games; H&J shows that we don't want to pay EXTRA for it (or necessarily win prizes that won't fit in suitcases for the plane ride home). Certainly they could have found something to fit the DinoLand theme without conjuring up some far-fetched story that nobody really knows or understands to explain WHY that's all there.

Actually I thought that, with myself. we have been annual visitors now for about 10 years and we have decided next year to take a break.
I'm hopping that a year or two off and absence will make the heart grow fonder.

It's true that many people don't see the decline because they never experienced the WDW we used to know. I can't say we would still go if we didn't live nearby. We do lean more towards the non-Disney restaurants for dining and spend a lot of time people-watching instead of standing on lines for rides that just don't work for us anymore. Spending a lot of time observing can open your eyes to Disney's failures.

The American Idol Experience in Hollywood Studios. I really really wish reality tv didn't make an impact on Disney World. Of course that show has millions of fans, I know that, I just hate those tacky shows (also X Factor etc) and I wish reality tv could be kept out of the parks.

A couple people have mentioned it - the changes made to Journey into Imagination. The original was one of the best rides ever. The current version is embarrassing.

Biggest fail in Anaheim would have to be California Adventure. It's improved considerably since the opening on 2001, but at the same time WDI was building Tokyo DisneySea. Simply put, DCA pales by comparison.

I was almost embarrased for Disney when DCA opened. We didn't go for years after that, and once people had said it had improved we went back. It was better, but it isn't great.

Maybe my expectations are too high? This next trip to WDW we're also going to Universal, so it'll be interesting to compare the two.

The main ones that spring to my mind are:

- Universe of Energy...long, BORING ad for the oil companies...plus it breaks down constantly!

- Stitch's Great Escape...gross and pointless.

- the proposed Avatar expansion for AK...Disney really doesn't need to partner with this newest incarnation of the tired "Honky Joins the Natives, Excels at Everything They Do, and Nails the Chief's Daughter" trope.

the Fast Pass system...and I know how to use it. All the back and forth back and forth walking and getting the passes, waiting for the right time to use it, waiting for the next time you can get another one, is just so un-user friendly.

Also agree the dining plans seem to have made the food worse.

When I was younger, I hated Epcot now......as I get older, I enjoy it. I think it appeals to the mature crowd LOL. Now, they have since added many newer, family, good rides thus, it is more appealing to the family.

Epcot was my favorite park when I was a kid and it is still my favorite park now

I am definitely in the minority on the dining plan. We LOVE the dining plan as we have been able to eat at a lot of restaurants that we never would have been able to eat before. We LOVE deciding months in advance where we want to eat and knowing that we have a reservation and won't have to worry about whether we can get into the restaurant or not.

I'm also in the minority concerning Mr. Toad. I was never in love with it, and I have always been a HUGE Pooh fan.

I am totally Disney obsessed so I already know that it is hard for me to find faults with the parks that I love so much. If I had to pick the main faults that I see it would be:

• taking too long to do expansions, remodels, refurbishments etc. They seem to go on forever and the walls and noise etc can really mess up your experience.
• Stitch's Great Escape
• Avatar (yes I know it hasn't been built yet. But, it just seems wrong to me. It feels completely UN-DISNEY to me) I didn't really enjoy the movie, so I'm not looking forward to it in any way.
• Not building anything new in the Wonders of Life Pavilion
• Not doing another update on The Universe of Energy
