Hi all

Just after booking our stay in the Newport bay club for 8 days in march.
I have been to disneyland paris before in 2010 in the new york hotel in december and it was very cold -5 most days we were there.
my question to anyone who can help me what is the weather like in that time of year and is the park busy?

Q2 Does any1 know that st' patrick day is like is it any good?

Q3 Does the park close early that time of year and is there much going in the parks?

Regards dangermouse

The parks should be quieter as there isn't any schools on holiday (I think). The weather is a bit hard to predict from sun to rain in March.

Not sure about St Patricks day as I have never been then. The parks will close around 6pm for the Studios & 7pm Disney park as its low season, with maybe the exception of St Patricks day.

If you read the trip reports from March this year, my trip report includes St Patricks Day (it was the first day of our trip). It had been lovely early Spring weather until we got there - unfortunately we got freezing misty weather for our first couple of days :confused3.

It was actually our busiest trip crowd-wise, certainly Thursday through to Sunday. Monday (our last day) was nice and quiet, more what I'm used to from a trip.

We are going late March, I don't think you can accurately forecast the weather for that time of year.
Whatever happens I am wearing shorts! :)

Definately think about leaving the shorts at home lol!! It could be freezing or raining!!

Been twice in March, was sunny and fresh and a little chilly. Bring a scarf and gloves and you'll be fine.
The parks were very quiet on our 1st trip and mad busy on our 2nd but if you look in the useful info sticky you'll find a link to a site that will give you school hol dates. Id look at the French, UK and Spanish ones maybe.

Ive got two TR's:

and

There will be extra bits on for St Patricks Day.
Hope this helps :)

thanks for the tr links, also thinking about heading to DLP in March!

We've been twice in March and been very lucky with the weather. When we went last year it was dry and sunny in the day (extremely cold first thing though) but the week before had been -5!! brrrr!!

Layers are essential!!

It's a really nice time to go. My DDs birthday is on the 16th so we went then and didn't realise it was St Patricks Day whilst we were there until I read about it on here! So glad though, March is quieter show wise as it's between 'seasons' so there's no main hub show and so the St Patricks day celebrations half way through our stay gave us that extra something.

We've been a number of times in March, several Birthday excuses :goodvibes The weather can be doing anything we had snow in 2004, rain in 2007, the other years have been dry and sunny, 2009 was warm enough to go without coats during the day.

The week that the the under 12 go free offer is combinable with 1 day and night free is always really busy.
The March weekend we did in 2009 around the 12th was horrendously busy, probably the busiest I've ever experienced at the parks.
The last weekend in March will probably host the VIP/Press event for the
20th Anniversary, we were there for the 15th and it was a good weekend with a fantastic firework display on Saturday night.

From around 20th March onwards you'll stand a good chance of catching soft openings for whatever is planned for the 20th Anniversary.

Park usually closes at 6.00 or 7.00pm during the week and at 10.00 and 9.00pm Saturday and Sunday.

St Patrick's day = Fireworks in the park, we've always come home the day before, but have seen the stalls set up in the village and noticed the increase in Irish accents around the parks. :)

We are also looking at going in March as my daughters birthday is the 10th and plan to go and return the day before her birthday so she can still see the family! :D so excited about planning this trip x

We went in March a couple of years ago, and it was dry but very cold. We were thinking it would be fine, just like at home, and it was but of course we don't spend all day outside in March when we're at home! We had to buy additional sweatshirts there, which wasn't too much of a problem! In the middle of the day, we were comfortable without coats, but the early starts and evenings were slightly less balmy...

I would recommend you take plenty of long sleeved T-shirts and jumpers. And a waterproof coat of course. Layers you can remove and replace easily, and you will be happy and comfy.

I have never ever walked around the theme parks either at WDW or DLRP in long trousers.
I don't care if it is cold I am wearing shorts. :goodvibes

Lol :rotfl2: love your determination! Im cold blooded but DP is like you. Hes off to Poland in January and reckons he doesnt need a coat :lmao:

we've been there March 13-17 this year. The weather was great, around 18C, sunny - just wonderful. Not too crowded. We didn't stay for St.Patrick's day, we left aroun 11a.m. and it was packed. Lots of people, nothing to compare few days before. We are planing going back in late March next year.

I am just used to touring WDW in the heat, just doesn't seem the same in a hat and coat.

Thanks for the March info. Looks like we will be in the park Friday March 30th. Taking the train from Paris and doing an open till-close day. Hoping to get as much as possible in, and maybe even hop to studios. Can't wait to plan with my fellow disney lovers:wizard:

If anybody hears of any concrete dates/plans/events around then for the 20th anniv please keep me updated! Hope I get to catch some soft openings.

Hey, Jessrose18! Hello from Plymouth! We will be there just before you, March 27 - 29! I hope the weather is better than March in MN.
