We are going to be at Boardwalk next week and we got a copy of the activities and Corn Hole was listed on Wednesday afternoon. what is it?

It's a fun game despite the awful name. ;)
Here's a definition of it.
Corn hole is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches the score of 21.

I've never used bags of corn, most of them are filled with beads.

It can be addicting so don't be surprised if you end up buying one, or better yet making one like most people do. Have fun!

Corn Hole is a regional name. I typically hear that game called "bags"

It's a big tailgating game here in the Mid-Atlantic. PP is right, most people end up making their own. We have entire leagues here.

I am the Great Cornholio, "Are you threatening me?".... Sorry I couldn't resist this ol, Beavis n Butthead line... LoL.

Cool game though.....:thumbsup2

It is basically a bean (corn) bag toss. A girl I work with makes and sells the bags on Etsy.

I'd never heard of it until we moved to Indiana 7 years ago. The majority of our neighbors own Corn Hole games (many are decorated with college colors, sports team logos, etc). It's definitely a midwest US game. Basically team bean bag toss.

I live in the. Northeast and it is very popular up here. My niece and her husband had a homemade one that we have been playing for years. It's really fun.

I never heard of it either until we moved to Indiana. We playe dthe same sort of game growing up in Chicago, called it bean bag toss. Could not figure that out either, because the bags actually had some sort of plastic pellets in them. I know, because I just had to investigate back when I was a kid. My hospital sometimes has corn hole competitions/parties. I joke that here in Indiana we have corn hole and watermelon seed spitting contests. It's surprisingly popular here, although my last personal experience with bean bag toss/corn hole was when I dissected the bag back when I was 8 years old.

I can bet those who don't know the game, when they see "cornhole" in a Disney resort activity list, may start wondering if Disney had the same promo people advising it as Land's End with its free GQ magazine. In any event, it is a fun family outing game where you usually have two platforms, which often actually have a picture of an ear of corn and the word cornhole around the hole, which are somewhat more than horseshoe distance away from each other, have two man teams (you can also do one man teams), with a player from each team on each of the platforms, and they toss 4 bean bags per team member at the platforms, with any landing and staying on the platform equalling one and going through the hole 3 (and ties per hole wipe each other out). Play is to 21 but there are variations on scoring. Some play 15-0 is an automatic win and/or you cannot exceed 21, e.g., have 19 and bag toss goes in hole (and is not eliminated by opponent), puts you over 21 and you go back to 15 for the next turn. Also, all with whom I have played score zero if bag first hits ground and then bounces up on the platform.

I just played it for the first time at our work picnic. All I can say is I got the worse back ache afterwards!! Apparently there are two different weighted bean bags and we were playing with the heaviest!! It was fun, but not worth the pain! :headache:
