I'm looking to fly from Austin, TX (AUS) to Orlando (MCO) in January. For any regular Disney goers out there who are familiar with the pricing on this route, what is considered a "good" fare?? I'm seeing $266 round trip on Delta right now and wondering if I should scoop it up. Its been awhile since I was familiar with the pricing from AUS to MCO. Thanks for your help!

Might be a little high, depending on day (and remember delta charges baggage). I've seen oneway fares under $100 on SW, with no bag fees. Of course, if you were flying a holiday weekend, rates would be higher.

We're in Austin, too! We're going in February, and we missed the boat on buying the cheap tickets, as we didn't know for sure that we were going. $266 sounds about right, however, only on SW. Once you add baggage charges, you're looking at a lot more than just the $266 on other airlines. Especially during January, as we find that we pack more due to the unpredictable weather and the bulkiness of winter clothes.

That's not a bad price, we are a party of 4 so we fly SW only. Have a great trip. popcorn::

Don't forget the bag fees on Delta. Whenever I've looked usually Southwest or Jetblue have the best fares and no bag fees on the 1st bag (2nd on SW).

thanks for the responses! I'm continuing to monitor the airfare- and hoping for a sale! :)

YEA!! The Delta flight that I had been looking at went down to $236 this morning and I snapped it up. I'll be flying to DW by myself for a 3 day conference (+2 park days!) and I should be able to just take a carryon and not have to incur baggage fees. So relieved to have my ticket! Thanks everyone for your replies!

DFW is usually cheaper than Austin. We are flying in Dec from DFW to Orlando for $162 each though Travelocity flying United & American Airlines.

magicalmawmaw: that is an excellent fare! Congrats! For some reason, the flights from Dallas never seem to leave as early as they do from Austin. I can usually get a 6am-6:30am flight out of Austin. i did check flights from DFW this time too and the earliest they had left at 9am. And were more expensive. You never know what you'll find though- so I always check out DFW as an option. Have a great time in DW!!

We're flying from Austin this December on Southwest. Their fares are about $109 one way, but I've kept an eye on them and they've dropped to $89 one way a few times. If you book with Southwest and the fare drops you can get a credit back, so it pays to keep an eye on it!
