What is consider "medical need" for fridge at Pop?

Medical needs would mean medication needed to be stored the referigerator. However, it can't hurt to explain your situation. I think your situation might warrant a free one.

I have high blood pressure, but my medicine dosen't need to be referigerated. On our last trip I cut my toe really bad. I really should have gone to the hospital, but I didn't. By the fourth day it definitely was infected and I took it upon myself to remove the toe. I called the front desk and they brought up a referigertor and ice. I kept the toe on ice in the refrigerator for the rest of trip and I was not charged for it.

However, I couldn't get the toe past security in the airport, so it was all for nothing.

:scared1:  :scared1: WHAT?? OMG!

My son just went to his doctor today and was diagnosed with a sinus infection that he needs antibiotics for. It states on the bottle that the medication needs to be refridgerated. He'll be on the meds for two weeks (which puts us a few days into our trip). Can I just ask ASMovies for a fridge at check-in, or do I need to let them know now? Is there a real shortage for fridges? :confused3

Just bring your bottle of medicine. They questioned me for the reason and it was the same as you but I quickly whipped out the bottle and they didn't even really examine it except to look at the dates.

Huh? You lost a TOE but couldn't stop to possibly go to the hospital to have that whole scenario medically checked out????? Sorry but what in the world is wrong with you?!

I know, I should have gone to the hospital. However, when I got home, I did call a Tow Truck.

LOL.

P.S. It was just a joke.:rotfl:

You shouldn't have a problem with that. A couple of years ago I needed a fridge for my son's soy milk since he was lactose intolerant and they gave it to me, no charge. Earlier this year I asked for one due to all of his newly diagnosed food allergies (no milk allergy now!) and they also provided one free of charge. Now he's fine (what a rollercoaster ride this has beeh) and I'm going to miss not having that fridge.
Just tell them why you need one; I can't see how they wouldn't see that as a medical necessity. I hope your daughter gains the weight she needs and stays healthy. Good luck!

Since you have to pay for one to store baby formula, I would think the OPs decision falls within this same catagory. Be prepared to pay for it. We had to pay to rent one at Pop when we took GD when she was 6 months old.

I store insulin too, and that is the reason I had for getting a refridgerator. I think that you should plan on paying for one, but mention the reason you need one. You may get it for free. They should put fridges in the values, all of the other Disney resorts now get them. By the way, my son was a preemie too, he was 12 weeks early. I never thought I would get him to eat or grow (used to have to play air guitar and sing Wild Thing to him so he would take a bite of food) . Now he is 20, way above any growth chart and in college. Hang in there it will get better. Good luck on you refrigerator, I hope you get it for free, I think you should, I certainly understand the problem.

Last May my daughter was finishing antibiotics and I called ASMo to ask about the refrigerator. They just noted it on my reservation and when we checked in, no one asked to see the bottle. A regular, "dorm-size" refrigerator was brought to the room, free of charge. The best you can do is just ask. Disney is typically very accomodating.

Why didn't you store it in a meat smoker? ;)
