What is bump?

I am new and i post a lot but i do not know what bump is!!!!!! Some one please tell me!!!!!!

With this type of message board, when a message is replied to it is placed back to the top of the list. Therefore, some people wish to put a topic back to the top for certain reasons. (lack of replies etc..) So they just use the word "BUMP!"
