What is better Palo's dinner or brunch?

If I went to only one, I would definitely choose brunch. While I enjoyed dinner very much, the brunch offered alot of variety and let me try alot of things that I normally wouldn't have ordered off the menu.

I'm surprised the brunch doesn't get more requests for bookings (or maybe it does?) than the dinner.

While DH and I enjoyed the dinner very much, if we had to choose between the two, we'd definitely choose the brunch. It was 'to die for.' I wish is was available every day! :flower1:

Been to brunch several times - its great. Don't know about dinner, never been.

We were recently on the 4 night, so the brunch was only offered 1 day. We did receive a phone call from the Palo's host asking us if we were still planning on eating brunch here. They had a large waitlist and were calling to see if anyone was going to cancel.

I enjoyed the brunch, but if I had to make a choice, I'd go with dinner. In fact, we ate here all 4 nights of our cruise. It was incredible, romantic and relaxing.

The brunch and dinner both cost $10 per person but we then tipped more. The service is great as in all the restaurants. I love the view during brunch. You can't see anything during dinner--well maybe it will still be light during a summer cruise.

They are both fabulous. DH liked the Brunch better and I preferred the Dinner. We are planning on doing both on our cruise next month!

Do both!!! I was really looking forward to brunch, almost didn't do dinner b/c I didn't want to miss any of the dining room menu nights.

Both are fabulous!

DH and I ended up doing dinner at Palo's w/ a large group of our DIS friends - people we didn't meet until the cruise - and that was really alot of fun. ::yes::

Have a great time, whatever you decide! :wave2:

Okay, so you tip Palo wait staff seperately than the normal tips? I know that it costs $10 to eat dinner and brunch, but didn't realize it was a seperate tip. How much do you recommend? :listen:

I am assuming it is adult's only for brunch also? I really want to try both the Dinner and Brunch at Palo's but it seems like it will be a hassle with a 5 year old and a will be 21 month old? I know we can put the 5 year old in the Oceaner's Club and then cross our finger's that they don't page us to come get her? and then try to get a spot at Flounder's Reef? Maybe I'm just being pesimestic and it will work out easier? This is our first Disney Cruise.

That's correct. They are not included in the tips that you distribute to your normal wait staff. Not sure what is the correct way, but DH and I tried our best to figure out what the meal would have cost if we had eaten out at a normal restaurant and tipped 15%-20% of that amount.

Sue, you wouldn't be the only parent to have their pager going off while at dinner. We noticed a few parents that had to take their dessert "to go". I'm not that familiar with the hours at Flounders, but in the evenings at the clubs, they put out mats for the kids and show movies. I know that they don't work out for everyones child, but I think the kids clubs are just terrific and offer a lot. I would definitely recommend that you make your reservations and if you have to, just be sure to cancel them so you won't be charged the $10 per person fee.

I think I would have to say the brunch. That was really, really special and there was so much wonderful food to sample. I loved sitting by the window and watching the sea go by. Dinner was great too, but next time I will book a table at sundown. That would be romantic!

Recently on the Magic we asked our server about the $10 fee---was it mostly her tip or was it a tip for everyone (server, host, chef, etc)....

She said the server gets $0.40 of every $10 fee! The rest goes toward the other staff and the "ambiance" of Palo. :earseek:

Oh, and btw, if I could only choose one, I'd choose BRUNCH. SO MUCH better than dinner, IMHO. If I could choose two, I'd pick brunch TWICE! ;)

We initially had ressies for brunch and dinner, but upon reading the dinner menu, we cancelled that one. We did not like anything listed on that menu. Brunch was GREAT.
