As I once worked in housekeeping at a small hotel chain during college I always tip the mousekeeping. You'd be surprised what kind of stuff they have to deal with in some of those rooms. I've cleaned rooms where I thought the Board of Health should have been brought in. LOL.
As for manners in the parks:
1. Moving aside to read maps, locate family members etc is a must. When you stop, every one behind you has to stop including those often hard to control ECV's and strollers, often making them ram into the person ahead of them.
2. Sneezing and coughing your way through the park is just down and out gross. Try carrying a small pack of tissues to cover your mouth or nose when this occurs. If you cover your mouth or nose with your hands you are still using those hands to touch railings, ride equipment etc. As for the dirty tissues, don't drop them on the floor, put them in your pocket until you are near a garbage pail.
3. Crying children. As I have had to deal with this issue first hand (DD-5) last year I agree with removing the crying children from the situation. I had to leave a restaurant last year with my DD because the crying was non-stop. I took her outside(where the noise level was lower btw) and was able to calm her down. Once she returned to normal we returned to finish eating. An older couple sitting near us stopped on their way out and thanked me. I felt great and my daughter felt good too.
