What is AP discount? What other discounts should I chase?

I just read a thread that was talking about how many people end up staying at Disney at rack rate. I gues I'm one of those people, but now I'm looking for some guidance to get discounts.

We are 6 all together, 4 kids (1,3,6&9) and two parents. We usually stay at the Poly in a single garden view room. This year we want to go April 20-26th.

What can I look at to lower our cost of stay? Really need to economize a bit this year and hopefully this will help others too.

I would head over to the code and rates board, there is a link at the top of this one. AP is annual pass holder. I know, it's very overwhelming when you first start!

I believe joining AAA will REALLY save you some $. No way would I ever pay rack rate! AAA alone will typically save you 20%. Well worth paying $50 or so to join. I also have Costco, but they don't do wdw trips:rolleyes: just DL and DCL for now. Definitley agree w/checking the codes board. You can find great info there.

You may also want to consider renting points from a DVC member on that board, or getting a villa through CR with a code. I would also think the Fort Wilderness cabins would be a great alternative for you for the room and the kitchen facilities.

You may be too late to get a DVC rental for April. DVC villas book up pretty quickly.

How about the All Stars Family Suites? They sleep 6 just like the Ft Wilderness Cabins.
