what is a yuppie?

Yuppie is short for Young Urban Professional and used to be used to describe young successful professionals who valued material goods. At the time mobile phones was the big thing, along with a flash car and a penthouse apartment.

Now this is too funny- okay we are definitely young urban professionals and DINKS!!! But I read that Wikipedia definition and we are so NOT yuppies!! Definitely not upper middle income and we do not value trendy things! We're stuck in our rental apartment trying to save for a house!! And we definitely don't do golf or tennis and go to trendy places! We're stay-at-home-addicted-to-netflix types. And dh only wears jeans and sneaks to his computer grahics job! Okay, I have to give this definition from Wikipedia to my stepdad! Thanks all!

DH and I are DINKS but not Yuppies. We could care less about treandy things (well DH does want a PSP, but I think that makes him a geek, not a yuppie!). Also, we aren't upper income, at least not for this area.
