What is a "Woods view" at WL?

I booked a "Woods view" room at WL since it was available at the Spring rate, but since I have never stayed at this resort before, I'm not really sure what that room type is. I know what inside the room is like but can someone explain to me what that room rate means as far as room location? Is there a specific area of the resort (ie they face the woods surrounding the resort) ? Do any of them face the villas? Is there a general area of these rooms with better views? Are there any of these rooms with less desirable views. I figure I should at least ask for the best view and see what happens.

Request the North wing. there is a pond, woods, and we could see fireworks from the MK from our second floor room!

The south wing has a view of the villas. You will LOVE WL. We were surprised at how nice it was!

The following information is from Like the Phoenix, out of the ashes arises THE NEWEST WL FAQ! (Part 3) post from AspiringCindy & Floridacat
This information and much more is located on the first two pages of the WL thread.

Woods View Rooms: These rooms are located above the
Front Desk on Floors 5 & 6. North side
Woods View rooms are on Floors 1-6 and
face the "Otter Pond"(a handful face MK).
Rm 5032 faces MK & Otter Pond!
Floors 4,5 & 6 above Whispering Canyon are
Woods View Lobby Rooms!

BUILDINGS:
For the sake of clarification I am naming the buildings LOBBY, NORTH WING A, NORTH WING B, SOUTH WING A, SOUTH WING B. With the A buildings close to the lobby and the B building connected to the A buildings; towards Bay Lake. The North buildings are on your left facing the lodge and South buildings on your right.

Rooms are numbered “Floor-Building-Room”. An example is 6008 is sixth floor, north wing, room 8. 6108 is sixth floor, south wing, room 8.
Even room numbers are to the outside and odd numbers are rooms towards the courtyard side.
Room numbers are somewhat confusing as in the North wing, room numbers are ##6 to ##00 from the lobby towards the boat dock. They are the opposite in the South wing, ##60 at the end and ##00 at the lobby.

NORTH BUILDING, WING A: Outside is all Standard View overlooking the service area parking lot. This is where all deliveries are being made to the Lodge. This would work if you are only in the room to sleep. During the day there is a lot of activity of trucks making deliveries. The view is not distasteful; it’s the truck traffic during the day.
Inside rooms are Courtyard View in the general vicinity of the Waterfalls.

NORTH WING BUILDING B: Outside is Woodsview and is very quiet and private. We enjoyed it very much and would request it on future trips. We had a good view of Otter Pond, while we never saw any Otter’s there were plenty of Ducks swimming and Rabbits having dinner. The MK fireworks are very plain to see and my estimation is rooms 5012 to 5032 had the same opportunity as well as the same rooms on 4th and 6th floors. Rooms #008 to the end of the building are blocked by two large trees to view MK and to far from Otter Pond to see except a small end of it.

I know the above posters have given you all the info you need, but I just wanted to post a quick note. We LOVED our woods view room! It was on the north side, 1st floor, and faced the entire pond. We couldn't see the fireworks, but it was so peaceful and fun to see the pond and little critters in it every day. It was a nice break from the high-paced Disney action.

I had a woods view room on my last trip and the view was amazing. Had room #5032 and the picture below was of the view I had. I also liked the room since it was close to the elevator and a quick walk to the boat dock, foodcourt and main lobby.

We were at WL in December and stayed on the first floor woods view. It was absolutely wonderful! I loved waking up in the morning and having my hot chocolate out on the patio watching the ducks and other wildlife around the pond.

You will really enjoy the peace & quiet! Have fun!:wave2:
