I would like to know also. My DH and I have ressies there for Jan 2010 for parents only trip. We booked there because it's less points. I thought I had read somewhere that some of the value studios are SV. Will be watching to see what people say.
The value villas were all created from old "standard" rooms on the giraffe and ostrich trails at Jambo House. They are 3 feet shorter than the other villas and also have a more narrow balcony. There is no room for the sleeper chair to be extended with the pull out sofa, so the room accomodates 1 fewer person. Views can be Savanna, Pool or Parking Lot (only a request). All are on the 5th floor as are other DVC villas (except for the 5 LO Concierge rooms on the 6th floor).
Value room do not sleep 5 in one bedroom villa or 9 in two bedroom villa - because of space limitations they do not have sleeper chair that non-value villas will have. I don't know for sure about the views but iirc they aren't awful and some are very good.
The Value is for the smaller size, not the views. I like the Value studios for our arrival night if staying at AKV-Jambo. We usually arrive on a Sat night and we have stayed in a Value studio and then move up to Concierge for the week.
Both times we have had a great pool view around the corner from the elevators. They are smallish but so far our locations have been great and our views have been similar to what we get with concierge pool view.
No, you have to book the value category, and if you get lucky you MIGHT get a Savannah view. The Savannah view studio category is a "normal" studio with the guaranteed savannah view.
