what is a use year?

Each DVC member has a use year. It defines when points are issued. The use years vary per member. For example if you have a March use year, your annual allotment of Points are issued on March 1 and are good for any trip that is completed in the one year period from March 1 and February 28. Another member could have a June use year that runs from June 1 to May 31 and points are issued June 1 annually. Usually Disney is selling a use year that begins 4 to 5 months before the month in which you purchase. Note, it has no bearing on when you can actually go or when you can call to make a ressie. You can always go any time of year and can always call to make a ressie 11 months in advance at home resort and 7 at another
