What is a small wedding like?

Hi all,

I am struggling with our guest list, like I know that many of you are. We are going to have 40-60 people, but most likely less people, it might even be 30. My question is what is a wedding like with so little people? I have never been to one so I am not sure. Do people still dance, I really want dancing. Will it still be fun? I am thinking of using the White Hall Room, but if we have a larger guest count we can't. Any suggestions of where else we could have it. The living seas is out (i like the set up but the colors just dont work for me). Thank you for your help!!

I am not having a small wedding, but I have been to one. My cousins wedding last year had about 30 people attend! It was a lot of fun and people did dance! It's more intimate, so you probably won't have to go around and talk to hundreds of people, you can just have a good time (if that makes sense)! You're wedding will be great and everyone will have a great time! Good Luck!

I can't really give advice as far as reception rooms but I can tell you that a small wedding is still really nice and lots of fun! We had 12 people counting DH and me so it was very small Your wedding is what you make it, whether you have 100 guests or 10 guests! Do exactly what you want to do - dinner, dancing, whatever - and have fun. Your guests will have a great time, and probably a better time since they'll be able to spend more time with you rather than "sharing" you with 100 other people!

We just had our intimate wedding. There was 17 of us.
We booked a magician ( more of an adult magician than a child's), and also a caricature artist which I have to say was worth every penny.
He spent 3 hours with us and did a picture of everyone. He had us rolling around laughing as we gave him ideas for 'that particular person' and he made up the funniest pictures.
You can also book a balloon artist for children.
You are alloted 3 hours per artist, so it gives plenty to do for the evening.

You can't get any more intimate than the wedding DH and I had...it was just us!!

No guests...the only folks at my wedding were the officiant, the coordinator, the photographer, the violinist, and some CM who was responsible for opening the champagne!!

It was PERFECT...we were able to really just share and wallow in the moments. We did not dance (DH doesn't dance) but we could have with the violinist playing for us. In fact, our EM asked if we wanted to dance...but we said no.

We felt like we were in a movie or something...it was fun and magical and breathtaking! We loved it!

So...from my perspective 30 guests is alot! And I think you can have a wonderful wedding with fewer or more...it's up to you! Have the people there who mean the most to you and your DH2B...and make sure you take the time to dance and visit and "smell the roses".

My first wedding was as the WP and we had 32 people there. It was absolutely fab (I'm not kidding when I say it was the best part of our marriage). We rented out the small room at the California Grill right next to the catwalk which seemed like it was made just for that size. We also had a DJ---and let me tell ya, EVERYONE danced...of course, that could be contributed to the open bar. The food was amazing too and its easier to do a sit down meal with a smaller group! I would highly recommend it!

I'm interested in what you all have to say. My fiance and I have the honeymoon booked but we are stumped on what kind of ceremony to have. Keep the ideas coming!
