Pal Mickey is an interactive Mickey. He tells jokes, facts about certain things, short ride times and reminders of when parades and things of that nature will start. He does this for every park.
Also when at home he will tell jokes and you can play games with him so he is useful beyond the parks.
I bought my Pal Mickey last year and he came with us on this years trip as well and we like him - me and my kids
I have a good friend who was in WDW in November and she said her dd who is 5 LOVED Pal Mickey and that he really helped when they had wait time for parades, rides etc.
My family bought one when they first came out. Wasn't sure about the price for it though, but once we got it we loved it. I was 16 at the time, the youngest on the trip and we all loved it. He lets you know where and when things are going on that you may not have noticed/remembered. I wish they had him when I was younger actually.
I bought one for my DGD when we were there 12/3-12/11 and she just loved it. She clipped it on to the strap of her fanny pack and carried it everywhere.
It was a bit pricey but the enjoyment my DGD got out of it made it worth the price. We had lots of fun with it.
Is it really accurate on ride times? Does it know where you are and how convenient a ride with a short time is to your location? Renting on next trip, considering buying. Is it worth it?
Pal Mickey is $60 in the parks. I got mine from one of the outlets for $27.99 + 10.99 shipping. He's exactly the same as the one in the parks. I can't remember where the outlet is but you can call them at 954-846-7161. There was a whole thread about this on the budget board.
For those of you with more than one child. What do you do about the Pal Mickey? Do you buy one and everyone share? Just curious whether the siblings argued over Pal Mickey.

We're going with ours in two weeks, but my two kids are definitely sharing one. Mickey will just have to take turns with both! Don't get me wrong...I'm sure there will be battles...
But $60 a pop is a little more than I'm looking to spend.
IMHO, your daughter will LOVE it. DEFINITELY get one.
We bought ours used from eBay and have used it several times. I have 2 boys and when Mickey would shake and giggle, the child holding Mickey would yell "Gather Around!!". We would huddle up and listen to Mickey or pass him around. He repeats what he says several times (though you have to press his hand to get him to repeat it). We took turns carrying him.
Have fun!
Also - he only reported about the lines once or twice. He would say something like "There's no waiting at Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin." and he was right!
I will be 27, with my wife and parents. Would Mickey intertain/help us? We've been to WDW a few times before so we have an idea what we want to do there.
Well it depends on what kind of person you are. If you are the kind of person who will go on small world twice on your visit, then pal mickey will entertain you. Sometimes the "magic" of how it works is incredible.
