My DD is 4yrs old and a total princess: girl. What are a few things that we must not miss while at the parks? Any type of shows or meet & greets. We will be going the Nov 29-Dec 04 2010.

Ariel's Grotto with the Princesses!! We went February 2009 with an almost 4 year old princess! We didn't bother with PFF since we saw the Princesses at lunch! And great food!

This year we are going to have to brave the line at PFF because we chose to try a new character meal.

Yes, Ariel's grotto is a must. That way you are guaranteed an interaction with the princesses. Also you get to sit down in a nice cool place and be waited on. The little girls LOVE it.

I third Ariel's grotto... just make sure you book breakfast or lunch... it looks like the dinner won't have princesses for awhile if ever again...

We had a "princess day" with a trip to the Bibbedy Boppedy Boutique and then Ariel's Grotto for lunch. To avoid paying over $200 each for the full BBB package with the costume and all, they wore their dresses to the park and we brought their crowns to have included in their styles. It worked out really well and they got so much extra attention and they still talk about their princess day. We didn't do Princess Fantasy Faire but that's a good option, too. Just make sure that you do it first thing before the line gets ridiculous. Same with Pixie Hollow, which we did do and the girls loved.

I have twin 4 yr olds and when we go in Sept we are going to take them to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (its $49.95 to have hair and nails done) and to the PFF and Arials Grotto. Their birthday is this Friday and we are having a princess party for them with the dresses and crowns so we will take the girls dresses and have them get all dressed up. IF you wanna get your daughter the dresses and stuff its about $200 but they get the dress, shoes (I think) a crown and photo shoot. If you wanna see more about the BBB you can go to you tube they have a few videos there. The one in WDW is bigger then the one in DL so if you do look it up make sure you put Disneyland or you will just get the WDW videos. Have a GREAT Time!

Don't forget "Withdrawn by Magic" in DCA. My little princess was so touched by the songs that she cried. We got great pictures with Cinderella there.

Ditto to Ariels Grotto!

Question about the Disney Princess dresses. About how much do they run if you buy them in the park. I want to buy my 3 year old one to wear to Ariel's Grotto for our lunch. But I just want the dress... no makeover. I hear the dresses at Disneyland are high quality and she would also wear it on Halloween.

I read that they are close to $50. I would plan on maybe spending $75 but I really couldnt tell you. But what I did read said that they are great quality and have lasted through 3 girls and that it still looks beautiful. princess:

Its called Drawn to the Magic. It is a little 15 or so minute show that is very cute. I didn't see it on the map, but if you ask around the CMs know what you are taking about. On Sunday they had two morning shows, a noon and 1pm and a 3 and 4. Those times could change so check the times board next to the stage. Like Shakthi said, the songs are nice and the performers we saw had good vocals.

Last time I was in BBB I recall them being 65ish.

Thanks for the info! I will plan on 75 just in case. Wow I can not believe the dress lasted through 3 girls! Very cool!

You might check ebay for a dress if you have time. We got a like new Belle dress with shoes, crown, and wand, it was the Disney Store version. We got it on ebay for less than $50. She wore it for Halloween, to Disneyland, and other fancy dress days at preschool! It is still in great condition!

I agree, you can get great deals on the Disney store versions (that look different, but they're the same quality IMO).

If the PFF is still doing the dance ceremony, check that out. My daughter loved that. I agree with Ariel's, I love their food. Much better than waiting in line.

BBB for hair and nails. My daughter absolutely loved this experience.

Can I ask why you don't want to do the makeover? My 5 yr old princess LOVED it last September. She felt so special and loved the fairly godmother in training and the "big reveal" in the mirror (Cinderella or Snow White birds open the curtains). Then they get to take the makeup home with them and we had dress up fun for many more weeks.

I think the dresses at the BBB were different from the Disney Store ones when we went but now that the Disney store carries the park merchandise, they might all be the same. We did the full package last year and I think I would buy the dress & accessories beforehand if we do it on our upcoming trip. It really adds up for all the accessories and stuff you can buy at the disney store or on ebay. I would rather put that extra money towards another experience/treat. The disney store dresses all hold up very well -- we have a couple. They appear to be the same quality as the BBB dress we got in December.

I would do the BBB but I also have a 7 year old (who doesn't want a dress since Princesses are for babies ) but would want a makeover. This way my 3 year old gets the dress she wants at the happiest place on Earth and can wear it around the park. I justify the cost of the dress because she would be wearing it as a costume on Halloween. I can do her hair before we go to the park and do her nails for free. I read that the total costs for the makeover/dress is around 200 dollars which is my souvenir budget for each girl. My 3 year old would not get anything else.. no mouse ears, etc. I am a major budgeter ;) I may check Ebay now and the Disney Store before we go and do BBB.. but then again like I said I would have to pay for 2 makeovers... Hmmm not sure what I am going to do.. off to check Ebay, lol. Too bad Libby Lu's closed down!
Sorry OP to hijack your thread!

This thread has almost changed my mind about Ariel's Grotto. I've always heard awful reviews (in regards to the food), but it does sound like a good option for my 3-year old. Maybe her and I can go alone since my other kids don't care about princesses. I'm thinking we will do breakfast, if we decide to do it. You can't screw breakfast up as much as another meal. The PFF line does not sound very appealing.

I don't know how "she" does it ~ but this ebay seller has the same dresses/costumes sold in the Disney parks for 1/2 the price. DD has several dresses from her. She's great to work with ~ if she doesn't have listed what you want/need, contact her via ebay message - she'll list it if she can, you just have to hope you get it ~ BIN ~ before someone else does.

Ariel 's Grotto is a big must. I also took my daughter to it and she loved all of the princesses. PFF is a must too, my daughter got her hair and her face painted and she loved it. It was around 50$. But we did include lipstick purse and nail polish. There was also a coronation ceremony and meet & greet with the princesses That was several years ago however. princess:
