We are staying at GF for a few days after our cruise, it will be DH, DS (7) and myself. We will spend a day just relaxing and enjoying the resort, honestly IDK much about GF, I never really planned on staying there, so any ideas out that or something our family must do at GF??
TIA

Just explore the resort and enjoy the pool, it's a beautiful place. If you had a daughter, I'd recommend going to tea with her but I'm not sure about a boy that age. Walk over to the Poly and explore it, it's really a pretty resort and your son will get a kick out of it.

Rent a boat on the seven seas(you can get some great pics of castle), ride the monorail to CR and POLY, watch the night time movie, listen to the live music in the lobby.

My son thought tea was the best thing ever. But he is very easily persuaded by the "this is cool and hard to get a reservation for" line from me.

WE love dinner at 1900 Park Fare! The step sisters are a hoot!

Watch Wishes from in front of Narcoosee's.

Ride the boat to/from the MK.

Walk the path to the Poly.

Have fun! The GF is spectacular!

Take the glass elevator up to the second floor. There is a nice gift shop up there, then walk out to the monorail and take a ride around to the contemporary and explore a bit. Then back on the monorail to the Polynesian to explore that resort. Then hop on the monorail and the next stop is back at The Grand Floridian.
Listen to the grand piano player and the orchestra in the lobby. At 3 o'clock Prince Charming and Cinderella will come down the grand staircase to greet guests.
The children's splash play area is a lot of fun also.

It's a beautiful resort, just relax and soak it up! Both pools are great. I like getting lunch at the Beach Pool Grill. Enjoy the lobby, the music, and as mentioned at 3:00 Cinderella and the Prince arrive. This is relatively new!
We love dinner at 1900. Gasperellas is their CS and has great food options too. Watch The Electric Water Parade and Wishes from the resort.
Great shops in lobby on both floors. Walk along the lake path to Poly.

-ride the monorail around Seven Seas Lagoon (stop off at Contemporary for a fun arcade if your son is interested)
-you could get off the monorail at the Polynesian and walk back to GF

-renting a boat from the marina would be fun :boat:
-watch fireworks and/or Electrical Water Pageant from dock or marinapixiedust:

We just returned from a stay at GF with my daughter who turned 8 on our trip and 2 nephews ages 9 and 7. They loved the slide at the pool by the DVC villas! We voted it best resort slide :) DD also did the pirate adventure and had a great time, she requested to do it again on our next stay. We've rented the sea racers in the past and the kids liked those as well. Other activities the kids liked- taking the monorail and ferry to the parks and other resorts, picking out a 'mickey soap' and mickey bath bombs from basin to use during our stay (2nd floor), watching the water pageant from the beach, eating ice cream/cupcakes at the marina outside gasparilla grill while watching the fireworks and participating in games at the pool from around 1-4. There's also a (half?) basketball court by the dvc villas and a small arcade next to gasparillas.

Definitely 1900 Parke Fare. The meal was amazing and the characters were awesome! "Tigger" came to our table was just on fire! Such a hoot and really made our breakfast the best meal of our trip. It was relaxed, staff were awesome and if your kids like the characters, I can't recommend it highly enough. : )

Have dinner at Narcoosee's late enough that it's during the fireworks. You can go outside and watch from the dock, come back in and findh your meal.

Definitely watch the Electrical Water Parade.

Have breakfast at Gasparilla's outside facing the marina. We split the Bounty Platter because it is huge.

Afternoon Tea! It is one of my favorite things to do when I want to relax and just enjoy myself with the hubs. Kids that I've seen at Tea seem to enjoy the experience too.

We like the pool. Sitting in the lobby listening to live music in the afternoon. Have a drink in the lounge. Walk around the grounds. Sit out on your balcony. It's not my personal favourite resort (it is DH's though) but it's very pretty and very nice.
