What is a good way to tour the parks?

Hi,

We are going to Universal on our next trip to Disney. We plan to visit Universal starting on June 29th for 3 days out of the 5. We got the buy 2 kids free and 3 days free passes. In between there we also need to be flexible as we have passes to see the Space Shuttle launch on July 1st.

So as first timers, do you recommend a park first and what is the best way to go around. We are not getting Express Passes. Our children are 5 and 7. The 5 year old is already 48" tall. Both will go on anything. When do the parks get really busy during the day or maybe it's all day during the Summer?

Thanks for the help.

Just like WDW, get to our park of choice as early as possible. The lines into the park move at a snail's pace so make sure you keep that it mind. We went the Wednesday after Memorial Day and couldn't believe the wait time for the Mummy was only 10 minutes at 9:30 a.m. We did notice that the lines for Shrek 4D and Jimmy Neutron were both smaller later in the day. The ride for the Hulk was only 10 minutes long if you ride before 10:00 a.m. My biggest advice is arrive early and do your favorite rides first if possible.

My DS7 was not tall enough to do three of the rides at IOA so we decided to do US first and we returned again for our third day there. We also chose US for a second day because we were leaving for the airport and didn't want the temptation of the water rides at IOA.

Hope this helps you make some decisions.
