We are going to take a vacation in january 2009, my dh wants to get "pricing" for other vacations to see if we can go cheaper. Right now i have our Disney package with dining 4 nights all star suite 2 adults 3 kids 16,15,7 around 2800.00 that is park hopper no water parks. I myself think that is pretty good, but he wants to compare other places in florida. But anywhere but Miami or the Keys the water will be cold, wont it? Any help would be awesome!! :cutie:

Why not price off-site in a condo. The best of all worlds, and you might discover some fun things besides disney.

We are spending 2 weeks, going to the space center, gatorland, on an airboat ride, seaworld, and disney. Can't wait! We are doing all of that for about $400 less than you are paying. Of course we are cooking breakfast in the room.

Keep an eye out for a discount code for that time, and maybe you can do better and still go to WDW. We were able to get a code for the last two years, and it was free water parks and more and a small percentage (15 percent maybe?) off the room rate. We stayed in the Family Suite last year and had the discount. Discounts for that time seem to come out in the October/November time frame. Discount codes aren't guaranteed to be available, but fairly likely (esp. considering the economy).

Are you set on Florida? We had an awsome time in Arizona a few years ago. The flights and hotel/resort were a great deal and it was so very relaxing. Warm, sunny and dry. We picked the location after I spent days scouring the Weather channel to figure out where we could be guaranteed to feel warm and not be rained out!

In Florida, you might consider trying the Disney Vero Beach hotel for a family beach get away. They would have lots of activities and waves being on the Atlantic side. The water temp won't be great but I don't know if it would be actually 'cold.' There are also lots of inland warm water springs in Florida that the kids might like to try swimming or snorkling at.

How about a cruise? From what I have heard, the water's always warm in the Carribbean. A lot of the cruise lines have really good kids clubs and it can be fun for the entire family. Some of the ships even have waterparks on them.

I second a cruise and in January you can get some really good deals. My kids love cruises and Carnival is their favorite, followed by Royal Carribean as a close second. They liked Princess, but thought the kids program was better on the former two. Celebrity just didn't have enough kids on board when we cruised.
