But not crocs. I need a shoe/sandal for my 3 yo and I need them this weekend so he has a chance to wear and break them in. What do you like for your children? I looked at a few sandals at kihls but how would I know if they feel good to him(he said they all did) and if they would be ok for all day walking?Help:flower3:

Croos are what my neices and nephews wear - they choose them to wear all the time including when we are at Disney World! They seem to break in on the first wear or so!!

I was going to suggest crocs because they are great in the rain. We were there in December I personally broke down a brought a pair of the MaryJane Disney Crocs because my feet were killing me and Man was I glad I did because I could walk all day and night in them and were the best in the pouring rain and puddles!

My second suggestion would be TEVAS. I used to buy them for my oldest daughter and she never complained. They are also very good in the rain.

My family keeps on going when in rains in the park, my girls can ride Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain without the long rides. Sometimes we don't even need to get off to go around again.

I hope you have a great time! :)

Although we find Crocs comfortable as well, and have many pair, they are not safe to be wearing on young kids (I have taken many spills myself) and so we are looking at purchasing Keens for all of us. They seem to be very popular here on the boards as they are washeable, warranty, covered toe and waterproof. We saw them in person yesterday, and are going to try them out and hopefully going to buy ourselves 4 pairs of them!

I would suggest these for infants/toddlers and other young kids as they look very sturdy and the covered toe is a big plus for that age group. As well, they are waterproof and can be machine washed which is great - we always spend several weeks at WDW in July, so we need waterproof shoes. My kids also pretty much wear mostly Stride Rite shoes too - great quality, but the leather sandals shouldn't really get wet, so we are going for the Keens as these will serve us better while dodging the almost daily summer rains in Orlando.

Good luck in your shoe search, Tiger :)

My girls wear Stride Rite sandals. Their leather is a lot softer than some, and the soles have a lot more flex. I try to get them at the outlet if I can so they are not so pricey.

My son wore crocs with the back stap on the back of his foot and his stride rite running shoes while we were there.

I was going to say crocs also. Its what my toddlers live in from the spring-fall. Other than that sneakers and socks.

Sorry, we're rockin' crocs all the time. My 3 yr old nephew has some super cute ones called "croclings" I think. They have a neoprene sort of upper and won't slip or slide on little feet. We're believers. Socks and sneakers in the rain are the pits.

My DD has always worn sneakers to an amusement park. I like her to have socks and her whole foot covered/protected. Never know.

My daugher has the sneakers by the brand, Tsukihoshi.
I am planning on getting a pair of these sandals for the summer. http://www.zappos.com/product/7389856/color/559
These are the only tennis shoe type of shoe that I have bought that she doesn't trip in. She walks on her tippy toes. Not sure if they come in a boy version. The tennis shoes dry really fast though. When we play outside she gets them wet and they dry in minutes. I think it is the fabric they are made of. They are machine washable too. I just love them for everyday shoes.

My DD wears the Merrell Relay Tour with the mesh sides. She loves them. Anytime she is doing anything active or going to spend a good part of the day walking, those are the ones she wants. She has a wider foot especially in the toe and top of the foot area, in case that makes a difference. She can't wear Stride Rite at all. They have to put her in a wide to get Stride Rites to fit the front and top of her foot and then the back is too wide so she just walks out of them. We wasted quite a bit of money on Stride Rite shoes that the store promised were a "perfect fit" before we finally gave up.

Maddox is 3.5 and he has Birkenstocks. They're a wonderful Khaki color and the style is called "Roma". They're made of a material called "Birka Flor" It's a material that looks just like leather but it's not. It's actually a waterproof fabric and it's very soft on the inside. The smaller sized Birkenstocks are sooooo hard to find. I found a wonderful seller on Ebay that's from Germany that sells these for about 50.00 a pair. It takes about 2 weeks for them to arrive. I bought a pair for Maddox last summer and LOVED them so much I went ahaed and bought him another pair last summer in a larger size for this year (just incase the seller was no longer on Ebay.) The size may be confusing since it's in Euro sizes, but Maddox is a Toddler size 9 and he wears a 26 right now. (they run BIG IMO) Maddox has a slender foot so I got him the ones in SLENDER. Be sure to look at the entire listing before you purchase so you get the correct size and width! HTH! Thanks! April

I love birkenstocks for myself. Thank you for the link. What would you do at disney if they got wet though? My birkis are pretty icky feeling when they get wet. Really nasty slimey feeling.. I think you aren't supposed to get them wet at all, but it happens! I went to your link and from what I am reading that is an adult size right? That totally confuses me. Her sizing chart was only for women and men on that from what I could tell. That is a great style. I would consider buying some for my DD if they had the backstrap. There must be a better way to navigate her store than just click ong kids right? I really would love finding her some birkis. This will take me hours to go through 79 pages though. :scared1:

Hey! No, those are childrens, see in the title it says C8, that stands for CHILD 8, remember I said that Maddox wore a 9 but they ran big, so that is the size I got him, like a Child's 9, but it says child's 8. I just noticed that the seller does'nt have the child's size chart on that page, but you can google the Euro size chart. You would need to look under your daughter's (or your) Euro size. You can Google "Euro shoe conversion chart" and find out what your size is and then go to this seller's Ebay store and just type in that particular size. I'm not real sure about how they are when they're wet, I've never let Maddox get his wet and I don't have Birkenstocks for myself. If he does go in the water, he wears Keens brand sandals, these can be found at Piperlime.com and that's what Maddox will be wearing to Blizzard Beach because they completly cover the toes and have really good grips on them. HTH! Thanks, April

I love Tsukihoshi sneakers! My DS has been in them since he started walking and they are the best. So light, flexible and they wash great! Love them

For sandals, the kids shoe store we use carries a brand called Kamik. The sandals are very sturdy but still flexible and light. They hold up well for the summer. We just bought him his summer pair two weeks ago in prep for our Disney trip next week.

The Geoxx are great too, but very pricey. We have found the Tsukihoshi and Kamiks to be a bit more budget friendly and the quality is great.

We too like crocs, but also wear the stride rite. My dd has never received a blister in the stride rite sandals. It is hard to find a covered toe when in the bigger sizes though. I had to buy mine on ebay.
