What is a good drink to order??

Bahama Mama-pineapple juice, orange juice, coconut rum and a splash of grenadine...so good!

My at home version is Hawaiian Punch, coconut rum, and pineapple juice. Also good.

I dont like the taste of strong alcohol tasting drinks either.. I do love beer though! :lovestruc

No matter how many times I've tried it in my life, I canNOT acquire a taste for beer. I did find one brand at a restaurant that was an ale that I could tolerate, but I've never been able to find it again. I wonder if there's something in it I can't tolerate because even one beer gives me a headache. And I can actually put away a lot of alcohol.

I don't drink very often, but I'm a huge fan of pina coladas and raspberry mojitos. Yummy!! The pina coladas go down like a milkshake. LOL!!

I'm generally the same way, but when I moved to New Orleans I discovered that I do just fine with Abita beer. Abita Purple Haze = yum and no headache/hangover! I'm also good with Corona for some reason.

On topic: chocolate martini, apple martini, Black Forest (tastes EXACTLY like the cake). Like others have said, anything fruity hides the taste of alcohol as long as it's not too strong. I also love sweet drinks, so anything with coconut rum, Kahlua or peppermint schnapps makes me happy.

If you don't particularly like the taste of alcohol, what drink do you order besides a soda, water, wine or beer? I would like a nice mixed drink, not too strong or alcohol tasting. What would you recommend?

Ahh, I could write a novel with recommendations (I used to be a bartender). I suggest Pineapple and vodka, or OJ and vodka, a mai tai, anything fruity (shall we say Pina Colada), espresso martinis, chocolate martinis, white russians, amaretto.

Well I come from the land of Yungling its impossible to live here and not love beer.. but I dont drink yungling. I drink Labatt blue. Its from Canada :thumbsup2

Speaking of the pinnacle vodka I got cherry lemonade last weekend while I was out. its very good in Cherry 7up. They also make cotton candy flavor. I dont know what that would be good in.. :confused3

I've had vodka with a lot of things, but haven't tried it with pineapple. Yet.

A girl I tailgate with was drinking this with Sprite at a game recently. No, wait! It was bubble gum flavor instead of cotton candy! I didn't try any because that just screamed "vomit" to me.

I absolutely HATE beer. One sip would make me gag.

I've grown to love it! Still hate the regular stuff like Bud, Miller, etc.

Champagne gives me more of a headache than beer. DH ordered a bottle for our 5th anniversary at the Palm Steakhouse and I couldn't get out of bed the next day. One glass = yes, 5 glasses = major headache.

I always see Purple Haze but I never get it. I'll have to try it. I used to just drink Coronas but DH introduced me to Sam Adams and I've grown into more of a beer drinker. I LOVE their seasonal beers. The Black Lager and Cream Stout are two of my faves!!

Alcohol is not a friend of mine. I don't like the taste, and it just doesn't sit well with me. In fact, I can only drink in warm tropical climates as the booze doesn't taste right to me anywhere else. The main problem with alcohol is if the bartender sucks, the drinks suck no matter what. The bartenders in warm tropical climates are just better.

Drinks:
White russians, milk and amaretto, 43 and milk, melon balls, pina coladas, hurricanes will all go down smooth if the bartender can mix. Pick one and stick to it all night; the moment you start mixing your stomach will start churning. Even a martini done right will go down well. Stoli screwdrivers avoid the alcohol taste, but tell them to go easy on the stoli and more on the juice.

Shots:
Kamakaze, dirty girl scout. Mix and match jaegermeister, goldschlager and rumple minze; the shots have names I won't write here. Avoid Cucarachas until you are ready.

Wines:
Moscato, Sangria, and dessert wines are safe.

Beer:
The water brands (bud, coors) work well. The stouts like Guiness and Murphy's go down well also.

Or you could do what I do, if you don't feel like drinking, get cokes or water all night.

Burnt toasted almonds which if I remember right is vodka, kahlua, amaretto and milk.

I was drinking these at a friend's wedding a few years back. I'm not a big drinker but I was just pounding those down. They tasted like milk shakes.

I was very well toasted that day. :woohoo:

Equal parts Wild Turkey American Honey and Kahlua Mocha = Tootsie Roll
This coming from someone who hates the taste of bourbon LOL
