What is a "good deal" on diapers?

My sister is expecting for the first time, and I don't have any myself. I told her I'd ask you fine people here what price would be a good "pick up a pack on sale" price.

I think I've talked her out of stockpiling since it's pretty common knowledge that what might not leak on one baby will leak on another. But it would still be good to get a couple of packs of different brands to try and have in the house for the homecoming.

This is just for disposable, of course. Cloth diapers aren't an option for them for a variety of reasons.

Around here (Central Indiana) 8.99 or less plus a 2.00 coupon is a good price point. Sometimes you can do a little better, but this is about the best normal deal to find.

Check out www.spoiledbutnotrotten.net . She lists where the best sales are every week. If I remember right she also has a spreadsheet that tells what you is a good deal for each brand/size.

My personal rule of thumb is to never buy a package of diapers without a coupon! There are diaper coupons out there everywhere.

I found that during the infant stage you may have to experiment with finding the right diapers and usually the more expensive ones work best during that time. However, at around age 6 months or so the Target brand diapers started working wonderfully for our son. They are less expensive plus you can sometimes get coupons and 5% off if using a Target card.

I go by price per diaper, and while I haven't purchased a diaper in months, the last time I paid 14 cents per diaper, which for my area is a good price. I usually buy the rough AmazonMom.

I LOVE the Target brand diapers. I even like them better than Pampers. For my first two kids, I used Pampers exclusively but from that time until dd was born, Pampers must have changed their design. Now they hang too low ? Target's brand fits nicely, no leaks and you can't beat the price. I can get a box of size 3 that lasts me 3 weeks or more for $20.

I saved coupons, signed my sister's up and my mom up for coupons.

I was getting a pkg for under $5. The number of diapers depended on the brand and size. Some I managed to get down to about .50 plus tax.

I was only purchasing Huggies and Pampers. I started with size 1 and then when I had over 100 diapers I moved on to another size.

Once my nephew was born I then grabbed more in certain sizes if it looked like he needed more. We were lucky as it didn't matter what brand he had.

I just gave them the last pkg I had of size 5, which he wears at night now. They use size 4 for the daytime. He is almost 15 months, but very tall. 18 month overalls don't fit-I bought him the cutest Winnie the Pooh ones but he needs size 2.

I have been using Amazon Mom - 30% off diapers and wipes with free shipping is about the best deal I have found and I like the subscribe and save option because the diapers just show up on my door.

Same here in NC That's for name brand.

I will say with our first I tried to go cheap and save money - bad idea! I ended up spending more in time and money from having to change blow-outs and leaks. IMPO go with name brands with a coupon for the newborn stage. Once poops stagger off and become more solid and she's not changing 1-2 every hour or 2, then go to the cheaper brands.

Most companies will send you coupons in the mail if you sign up on their website too. I've also found better coupon deals on print-out sites like Coupons.com than I've gotten in newspaper fliers. Not always but most of the time.

I have heard the same from many of my MOPS mommy friends. I never got the chance to try it since my DD just potty trained. I was going to use my swagbucks to get Amazon gift cards and get the diapers for cheap & free!

If the baby wears newborn size- the amazom mom's subscribe and save boxes of pampers swaddlers was a great deal- and they have that "i peed" stripe in them. My little one was in those until week 8 or 9. They were showing up on my doorstep for $14 per case.
Any bigger than the newborn size and the target and meijer brands have been the best deal for me... pay attention though because the cases are NOT a better deal at those stores. Per diaper it is cheaper to buy a bag than the case. Plus at Target they give register coupons and you get 5% off with a target card.

We have found that toys r us / babies r us can be very cheap if you catch one of their sales and use coupons. I think the last one i saw was 2 cases of pampers or buggies, plus a case of wipes for $35. You could also use a coupon on eac of those items, so should be close to $30. The diapers alone usually retail for $20+ per case. We also stock up when our local grocery store sells the regular packs ( 30 or so diapers) for $5.99 and we use coupons. This is usually a couple times a year and only good with a club card. We almost always have coupons for $1.50 or $2 off so they're $.14 or less

Love my AmazonMom! Diapers come to my front door and with the 30% off with the AmazonMom and subscribe and save it is a pretty good deal.

$3 is what I consider good.

I don't pay that anymore, though. I'm too cheap! Thanks to having hundreds of diapers shoved into every nook and cranny of my house. I've done every diaper deal at local stores for three years. Taken advantage of the Amazon deal (& every friend I have with an Amazon account helped me, too)... And got TONS when Huggies and Pampers changed their packaging and they went 50% plus you could use a coupon and a $5/$25 store coupon.

Use rewards points for free diaper coupons. I just cashed out Huggies points for FIVE coupons, each good for a free package of Pull-Ups.
