Well I'm hoping to get Chef Mickeys, but in the event that I cannot, what would you guys recommend for a 1st night dinner after we arrive to get us in the Disney mood?! I have 3 young kids and I want something really disney-ish! :)

Oh and I need a place NOT inside the park for the 1st night...must be either Downtown Disney or at a resort..thanks!

I'm hoping to get ADRs at CM for our first night too, but my second choice is going to be 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian. They have a cute character dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters. I'm thinking your girls, and mine, will really enjoy this one. Good luck.

1900 Park Fare is a good suggestion...

Anthor one not in a park is Mickey's Back Yard BBQ at Fort Wilderness...

There is nothing really in Downtown Disney that would be "Disney" themed...They have the Rainforest Cafe and in the fall a new place called T-Rex is openning...Both will be great for your kids... But they are not Disney themed meals.

We are doing Whispering Canyon - we will be driving from Virginia so the kids will be very antsy and excited. I figured it was the perfect place in case the kids can't sit still!

We are doing Coral Reef the first night. I cannot wait!

Thanks so much for the suggestions! So I am going to try for Chef Mickeys, next idea would be 1900 Park Fare or Mickeys Backyard BBq..

Hopefully I'll be able to get one of those.

ETA** Well, I called Disney Dining, and I actually was not able to book any of those. But I was able to book the Garden Grove dinner at the Swan with Goofy and Pluto. Anyone know if this is a fun place?

We have done Chef Mickey's in the past. This year we are doing O'Hana's at the Poly. I don't know why, but there is just something about Chef Mickey's that I don't like. It just seems cheesy to me.

Keep Calling, you would be suprised with what you can do if you just keep calling. I called everyday for 3 days, first thing in the morning then in the afternoon, after 3 days my TS opened up with one spot at like 7 pm, it was 1900 PF. I have never heard anything about this and i have never been there
