What is a Dole Whip?!

Ok, I know I know... this title screams "NEWBIE" all over it! But I read probably 5 posts a day about how wonderful they are... so, please explain b/c I'm pretty sure I want to take part in this "heaven in a cup" as it's called!

You have to like the taste of pineapple. The Dole Whip is like a soft served frozen treat...pineapple flavored. Texture is between ice cream and sorbet..very similar to the soft serve ice cream that comes out of the machine where you put a cone underneath.

Plus...try a Dole Float.
That is a Dole Whip with pineapple juice.

I believe it is a snack credit, and they're in Adventureland at MK.

you can get the Dole Whip cone (or a dish if you prefer), or the Dole Whip float (either with vanilla whip & pineapple juice or with pineapple whip & pineapple juice)

Either one is 1 Snack credit (but the float is much bigger )

You can get this Dole whip cone (or in a dish) at either Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom or at Captain Cook's Counter Service at the Polynesian Resort.

You can get the Dole Whip float at Aloha Isle.

One suggestion if you're getting the float -- when they make these, the juice is not cold, so let it sit for a minute or two (or stir it up some) before starting to drink it. Also, some people think the pineapple juice/pineapple whip is just overkill on the pineapple, so prefer getting the pineapple juice with vanilla whip.)

Yeah, I know I'll take a few tomatoes for this one on here, but I just couldn't take the Dole Whip Float. {ducking}

I LOVE (and I mean truly adore) pineapple, and generally I love floats of any sort, but the Dole Whip Float was just too sweet for me. Makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it. {again, ducking!}

That said, it's definitely at least a must try once, especially for just 1 snack credit!

Thank you for asking! I have been around the boards for a couple of months and have been dying to know myself. I guess I was just too shy to ask about something that everyone referred to as something we should all know.

It's basically the most heavenly pineapple soft serve ice cream on the planet! : ) You can get it swirled with vanilla, plain, or in a float with pineapple juice. All are yummy!!

Not exactly- b/c I DON'T like pineapple but i LOVE pineapple dole whip and the dole whip floats! adn i don't like pineapple juice on its own! I think it helps that when i've had them it's a gazillion degrees out and they're super cold

I'm the opposite--I love pineapple but not the pineapple Dole Whip.

Sometimes a picture can help, here's DD with a Dole Whip float.

This was at DLR but they are the same at both parks. We actually prefer the straight Dole Whip (no juice) since the pineapple juice isn't cold and melts the whip.

Yummmmm. We got them all the time at the Dole Plantation when we lived in Hawaii and are looking forward to getting them at Disney in May! My dd always asks when we can have "that yellow ice cream again."

You have to try it, but if you like the taste of fresh pineapple you may be disappointed. It also contains a laundry list of ingredients with mysterious names (unless you are a chemist). I gave it a second try and still didn't like it. I'm sure my liver and kidneys will thank me in the long run.

My DH loves those Dole Whips. I don't really like pineapple so I don't partake. We get at least one everytime we go. You can get them in Adventureland and at Poly's Captain Cook's.
