Does anyone know of anything particular about April 3, 2022 at Hollywood Studios? Out of curiosity, I checked theme park reservations in the upcoming months on MDE today. A couple of holidays in the next few months were yellow. Then wide open for several months, then suddenly April 3rd at DHS is already listed as unavailable. Anyone know why?

I would guess anticipation for Star Wars Run. It’s usually around that time in April, but it hasn’t been announced yet.

Yes, it is Springtime Surprise Run Weekend. (Star Wars Rival Run should be the following weekend if it follows as previous years.)

Can anyone tell me what this event does and will it bring bigger crowds to that week? We arrive on the 2nd but would push back if this is going to add to an already crowded time of spring break time.

It has never existed, so no, not really. We don't know if it will be a different type of race weekend (different distance, maybe a night race or relay or something). typically, RunDisney events only have a slight bump in crowds, though Marathon Weekend in early January is the largest. They only disrupt transportation on Sunday morning, and depending on the course, it typically effects Epcot the most, though early morning Magic Kingdom and the MK resorts see some impacts. Races start at 5:00 AM, so the 5K and 10K runs (typically Friday/Saturday) don't really impact anything. Sunday is usually a half marathon and those have all finished at Epcot, which sees some morning impacts.
