What is 1 of your happiest moments from 2003?

I've been in the advertising industry for 11 years. I actually quite a perfectly good job and started out on my own freelancing. I've been doing it since October 2003 and thus far I've made more money and have thoroughly enjoyed the flexibility and freedom. My job was depressing me and ruining my health - it's the best thing I've ever done.

After years & years of wanting to go I finally at age of 31, made my very first trip to Walt Disney World. I saved & saved & had a wonderful 2 week vacation, all paid with cash :teeth:
It was a wonderful feeling, stepping on Main Street for the first time & seeing the Castle with my own eyes!!!

We also decided to take a short Christmas trip back to the WDW!! Again we had the most magical time!!!

Being able to go back to Disney for the first time in 4 years, seeing my DD7 giddy with excitement and my DS2 in awe of everything, eating breakfast in Cinderella's Castle for the first time and staying for 11 days (the longest we have ever stayed). It truely was a magical family vacation.

It is a pleasure to read of everyone's happiest moments. So many involve relationships, reaching one's goals or moments at Disney. Thank-you all for sharing important pieces of your life.:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

The birth of my DS in January.

Taking DS and DD to WDW for Christmas so DD could introduce her new brother to Mickey and Pooh.

Finding out about this pregnancy!

Being with my DH!

WDW last Feb! Has it really been a year already? I can remember every single minute of it!

Going whale watching in New England, spending time with my friend Chris. It was a pretty good year, when I think about it!:sunny:

Congrats to everyone who is pregnant, and to all with good news! :sunny:

facing down my fear of rejection and tried out for A.I(but did not make the show)

My favourite things in 2003 had to include:
1) Finally getting to WDW after 27 years of waiting and staying for 2 weeks at the BCV's.
2) Spending my 5th wedding anniversary swimming with dolphins then going out to dinner with my DH and our 2 best friends who had booked a meal at the California grill. Plus they insisted on paying (we have great friends!)
3) Getting to see Robbie Williams (a huge pop star in the UK who I am a huge fan of) at the biggest pop event ever and being at the front on a 125,000 people crowd. I had been to one of his gigs a few years before, but this was something else!!

It's impossible to list just one, but I've narrowed it down to the top 3....

1. July 21, 2003 at 8:01 a.m....welcoming our DS, Ryan Michael, into this world

2. Watching DD's face as she met her little brother for the first time. I don't think there's anything closer to heaven than that moment we shared.

3. Finding out that the lumps detected in my mom's mammogram were benign. I've never been so terrified...or thankful...in my life!

Some highlights of 2003 for me were:

Going to WDW not once, but TWICE!

Being able to pay off more than half our credit debt due to an inheritance

Was able to quite my job and stay home full time with our two boys

DH got two very significant raises, one of which was unexpected

It wasn't one of my favorite years but here's a few fun moments:

We did Vegas......quite an interesting place indeed!!

Got my neck "fixed" with the help of a great physical therapist. Took three months so it was kind of a long moment!!!

Won $125 on a raffle ticket at a basketball game last winter.

That's about it!:hyper:

12/7/03: I was at a DIS meet at OKW and my son called to tell me he was engaged to be married. Definitely a very happy day :)

Definately my babies 1st birthday. It was a happy day to realize that we actually made it through the first year (though at times I am not really sure how I survived that long on such little sleep). It was also a great day because my dad was able to be there. He had been in the hospital for a month and was diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disease. I was going to cancel the party but he insisted that we have it and it was a joyous event because he was there. Now I just can't believe that my babies aren't bables anymore! WAAA Thanks for the post it made me smile just to remember that day

Without a doubt the birth of our DS in July. :)

Graduating from law school is pretty high on my list, too!

Well, I guess there were some things that went right in 2003.....

like DW mentioned on page 1, she was able to exorcise some past demons, and I was glad to be there for her.

Another one was being at Fenway Park on Sept 26th, the nighht they clinched the AL Wild Card. What a great night, although about two weeks later Grady Little made it all moot :(

Also, in 2003, my DS grew up so much and so fast. He is now 2, so not only words, but sentences are coming out all the time. He is also developing skills, like puzzles and other toys. It is also cool to see him react to questions on the shows he watches (i.e. "which one is the circle?" or "How many apples does Miffy have?")

Finally, in 2003, I decided that I was heavy enough. I broke my hand in February and was appalled when they told me I was at 307. In May, I started the Slim-Fast plan. I was above 307 by then (I never re-weighed myself and haven't since) but I can now fit into pants I haven't been able to wear in quite a while. I also recently started ice skating for exercise, and I hope to be playing hockey by the end of 2004.

On our trip to WDW in Dec. we were chosen to be Grand Marshals for the afternoon parade in the Magic Kingdom!

It was an overwhelming experience for my family.
