What inventions would you like to see?

So I'll go first.

I would love to see a small sticker invented which would either act as a GPS or would sound when triggered so I could attach it to whatever I wanted and find whatever I tend to lose. In my house I'd use it on my glasses and my keys.


Another one I would like is a disinfectant aerosol/vaporizer which would work like a bug spray bomb. I hate staying in icky hotel rooms. I would totally buy a product that would disperse a thin layer of Alcohol over every single surface in my room and kill every germ in there then dissipate.

Anyone else have a wish list of inventions?

How unrealistic are we allowed to be? I want to be able to teleport. WDW, here I come! Although, a pap scan sounds like a much needed invention as well!

Well since there was a time when no-one could have imagined people talking to each other all over the world with a tiny box that could sit in their houses I say as imaginative as you want. Who knows, maybe we'll have an inventor or 2 pop in looking for ideas

Let me also add an arch at the grocery store, when you walk through it it scans every item you have automatically.

How about some automatic track on all highways (kind of like the little track cars at amusement parks have. If I get on the highway, I can program in where I am traveling to, then I can sit back and relax while my car travels on the track. The system would beep or otherwise get your attention when you reach your exit.

An infant-carseat friendly grocery cart. Putting the carseat at the top makes me nervous, so I put the seat on the stroller and push the stroller and pull the cart. (It's such a pain, so I go really early in the morning to avoid lots of people). There are grocery carts that have seats for small kids, how about one with a spot/lock for the car seat. *sigh* Luckily, my baby is finally big enough for her Baby Bjorn, so once she gets used to that (I put her in it for small amounts of time at home), I'll make the switch.

Here's my latest pet peeve. How about a bathingsuit for plus sized women that was actually made for a plus sized body? You know, something with a longer skirt and a little more coverage? I just saw an email this morning that Lane Bryant started their own bathsuit line and guess what, each of the 3 bottom separates you were to chose from were all low rise -- beginning an inch or 2 inches BELOW the belly button and the little skirt attached didn't even cover anything -- it was simply for show. I also tend to carry a lot of weight in my hips/butt, so I need a bathingsuit that is actually longer in the back than the front, so it hangs evenly when I wear it.

But I bet we get the external Pap and teleporter long before a properly fitting plus sized bathingsuit.

On another Star Trek note, I'm still waiting for computer interface via voice. I love the voice-activation feature on my iPhone 3Gs, especially being able to do Google searches via voice. Can't wait until we can do that with all computing.

I want a jet-pack thing that straps on like a backpack and allows me to fly around. There was such a thing, but they never perfected it.

I would like someone to invent some mechanical "mom eyes". You know, so I could fit my husband and teenagers with them, so MAYBE, just MAYBE they can see the cat's vomit on the floor, or the big pieces of Doritoes that are crushed on the kitchen floor, instead of just stepping around the mess.

I want someone to discover another power source like cold fusion. Something that delivers the goods but clean. I want to be able to see other galaxies.

As far as minor inventions....

I want a chip with all my info implanted in my body so I do not have to have a key or fill out another form.

Teleportation is good so I second that.

Now for realism....

I want to be able to come home, insert my debit card into my computer and have it automatically sort my purchases into a pie chart so I can check it daily.

Also a function of that would be to figure out what I can make for dinner based on my purchases.
