What info is needed to ask for a PIN?

Why would Disney have my name at all to have a PIN attached to it? I have gone on a couple cruises but otherwise any park visits have been one day or a weekend thing.

Do you have to have booked a package vacation with them for them to have your name to possibly attach a PIN to?

Would the fact that I have cruised Disney be enough to get my name in their database for possible PIN?

Absolutely. While the parks and cruise line are separate from each other, they are still the same company...your account information will be the same across the board. In fact, you could have never taken a vacation with them at all (cruise or otherwise), but if you have given them your information through offers such as the former Disney Magazine or by signing up for a Disney account, etc...they have your info in their database which can potentially give you a PIN. No guarantee though, as none of us knows how the system decides who to send them to.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I started by updating my profile on the Disney World website. Then I began "shopping" for resorts, but I only saved the offers (never actually booked them). A couple days later, I went to the "My Disney Vacation" link on the Disney World website and created a new itinerary. Today, I received an email with a PIN (the 20% off values, 30% off moderates, and 40% off deluxe resorts room-only discount email). The email began:

"We’re delighted you’ve been making plans online with My Disney Vacation! Since you’re still looking for accommodations, we invite you to explore total Disney magic with a Disney Resort stay at a great rate. It’s a wonderful way to experience a wonderland of nonstop Disney enchantment 24 hours a day—plus the benefits of staying at a select Walt Disney World® Resort hotel!"

OH! I also might add that once I began "playing around" on the Disney World website, I did receive a couple of emails from Disney sources prior to receiving the coveted PIN email that came today. One was a tease because the subject line read "Explore Your Disney Resort Picks, XXXX Family!" I just knew it was THE email I had been waiting for, but it was simply encouraging me to book - at full price, of course. I also received the QSDP PIN for the summer season, which didn't help me.

I did the same as the above poster and got a PIN today. I made the itenerary about 3 days ago and inputted that I did not have a hotel or lodging anywhere yet.

Where do you input that you did not have a hotel or lodging anywhere yet? I didn't see this option.:goodvibes

thanks

Thanks for the info (I love this site!)

DD and I are going in May but we are going again in December with other family so I will check out possible PIN options (cross fingers) later to that date.

I have been doing the same thing for about a year. I haven't got any emails for deals with pins.. What am I missing.

Pixie Dust!

But don't worry - you are not the only one... ONE pin ever and it was for the same date/times/offer of what I had already booked...
