Hi
Just wondering what type of info member services will need from me when i call them. Membership Account #? Social Security #?

Thanks

You don't mention what transaction you're calling them about.

The first thing they'll ask you for is your member number. I'll either pull out my blue card before calling them, or have my account open on the member web site.

Then they'll ask for your name, and will finally ask you to verify some personal information from the account to prove it's you.

The next thing you'll need to know, of course, is the dates, room type, and resorts you're interested in.

They usually ask you for the last 4 numbers of your social security #.

I've set up a password on the account so that if all the above mentioned items were able to get verified by the caller. When you are a victim of indentity theft you can not be over protected.

I've never been asked this, which is why I made my response somewhat generic. I think they ask based on what's in your record. I knew they asked some people this, because a cast member once asked me for it, then before I could answer, said, "Oh, wait a minute. Can you please tell me... instead?"

In any case, it should always be information that the member should readily know.

Typical stuff, everything you will know by heart except maybe your member ID. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip on this. I didn't realize it was an option.

I've just contacted Member Services and asked to have a password put on our account. They require the request to be in writing, and signed by all co-owners. The request needs to show your 16-digit account number and the requested password. You then mail or fax it to Member Administration.

I really don't see the benefit of a additional password. If someone does steal your identity, I doubt if they are going to book or cancel a reservation.
